Not sure why someone hasn’t picked up on this Tyco Sohio. Not an easy piece to find at a reasonable price... https://www.ebay.com/itm/TYCO-GATX-46214-SOHIO-3-DOME-TANKER-HO-Scale-NEW-IN-BOX/223568027084

Too rich for my blood, Walt. Funny how these pieces sky rocket and then crash in price.

I just found this cool HO gauge live steam loco on Ebay. At $475.00 it is not an item to purchase lightly. It would be interesting to see a video of it operating though! The only concern (besides the price) that I would have with getting one of these things is that it requires a live butane flame to operate. I would be afraid of it accidentally setting my layout on fire during a derailment.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Steam-Train-Model-Locomotive-Drive-HO-Proportion-Live-Steam-Engine-Scale-1-36/123853462518?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D57475%26meid%3De52613bd850d4511978c917a8ec74eaa%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D133097704309%26itm%3D123853462518%26pg%3D2047675&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851
Still, it looks pretty cool!

Got this on eBay for $40, NOS.
There's a backstory on this: I am a sucker for Juice Jacks (electric locomotives all) and RP got me started on this particular merry chase. Couple years back, Mr. Donut here flashes me a PM about a cheap Rock Island in fantasy E60 colors on eBay, which I can't whip out my wallet fast enough to grab.
It ran poorly, and attempts to clean up the motor failed, so I got this Chessie E 60 to replace the bad motor/chassis.

Well, that didn't work much better, so now I go out at get another Bachmann e60, NOS, and I'm rubbing my hands together. Finally get it on the rails and it goes nice for about two yards, then, SPROING the pinion gear cracks in half.
Now I'm really ticked, so I try different things, pinion gears, nothing works. Top Train suggests I get an Athearn BB SD 40 and do a chassis swap. So I go on eBay and get a decent used BB SD40, that sets me back another 25 clams, and I go to find the failed RI Bachmann, which has now grown legs and sneaked out of my garage. Cannot find it to save my life.
So now I got a BB SD 40 and a NOS RI Bachmann on delivery, again, and prepared for all eventualities.
Does it make sense to add a dab of super glue to the pinion gear before I light it up?

Chops, you sound like me with my engines! However, that signal crossing controller I bought I hooked it up to a Tyco transformer. Seconds later a little smoke from one area and I never was able to get it working... I ordered a second one at $37.00. Then bought a regulated 12 volt 2 amp power source for a calculator and trimmed off the female plug and use the wires to power my circuit board... This crossing addition is one of the coolest things I have seen for the hobby. I then had to buy a second crossing flasher by Life-Like for the other side of the road... I think this is more impressive than the arc welding simulator I have in the Tyco Standart Machine shop...

Better than your arc welder! LOL, man if that ain't the dang truth. Lucky it didn't burn your whole house down! Somehow, you manage to have the luck of the Irish when it comes to those Tyco PT motors- I've had more than one go up in gray smoke.

Sometimes you can find pretty good deals on Ebay.....
I bought this large lot of HO-scale box cars for around $60, shipped, and it was well worth it - I ended up getting 4 of the hard-to-find Tyco ShopRite 50' box cars in perfect condition, as well as 4 Tyco Burlington Northern 50 box cars without any broken parts, and 2 Bachmann billboard box cars also in good condition. The rest of the cars unfortunately do have broken parts, but no problem, they can be parted out.
And yes, I am keeping all the ShopRite cars.....

Wow!! Those Shop Rytes are Tyco??? This stuff just keeps coming. I believe Mr. Cook identified the BN green as the most common of the Tyco box cars ever produced. Nice variation of the Jellos, one of my faves, and what manufacture is the Target???
I saw that NH set you mentioned, and would have dived on it had you not already sent me those three slick NH coaches. I try to limit myself to three of anything identical these days, as it is hard to run a 35 car string on the old 4x8.

That Target box car and other hardware car are Bachmanns. Looking to get rid of them...so I'll be posting them to the Trading Post.

I have to wonder about this sellers judgement on condition. He has two, in different conditions, yet they are both listed in great condition...

Somebody with deep pockets versus someone with deep pockets, still they are rather unique, and I've not seen the Tropicana trailer by Tyco ever before. Another first, for me.
I am of a mind to stir the hornet's nest by sticking in a bid, but last time I tried that I ended up owning it!

First noted by Walt, the bidding war has escalated...still two days to go.
While looking at that, came across this Tyco Mobil Triple Dome. I'd not seen a Mobil Triple Dome before. Bidding is still low...
