Yeah, I kinda agree, this is a bit high, but a friend of mine tried to buy one about five years ago and was very happy when he found a complete one for under $200. They are getting very rare these days and if you need one, I suppose you may pay that much.
I really don't know why Walthers just doesn't kick in make some new ones. I think they would sell them all.
Regards, Vic B.

You would think so. According to the description on the listing the molds are destroyed/unusable now so they will "never be made again". Don't know if that's marketing or the truth.

The prces on Tyco products are getting a bit crazy on ebay lately. I paid $19.74 plus S/H for Sam's used cars for some parts. However, the seller below reminds me of the arrogance of a gambler throwing out this crazy figure for the Baskin Robbins. It that thinking like, I know I can "beat the odds" and sell this kit for a hundred bucks...

I have no idea if this is worth the money or not - it's kind of a moot point. But, if I had just won the lottery I might throw a little money at this.

Expensive, but looks cool!
ScaleCraft, Box-Pok drivers are drivers that are more solid than spoked drivers. The middle set of drivers on that loco are Box-Pok, the others are spoked, so you can see the difference. Railroads often replaced the main drivers (The ones the rods from the piston go to) with boxpoks because the spoked drivers would break from the strain, and the boxpoks were stronger.

Yeah. That was a quote from the scam...errr.....evilbait listing.
I am fully aware of what they are and the correct spelling. Apparently one of the requirements to list on evilbait is failure of third grade spelling. Either that or the seller uses some stupid MicroSlime product to auto-correct his spelling!

Trains are not mentioned as being part of it, and it looks pretty bare - I think I see a string of ore cars in one photo, and that's it.
My honest impression - overall it doesn't do a lot for me. Can't really say why specifically, maybe it's more impressive in person. Don't think I would part with 50 G for it, even if I had that kind of throwaway cash.

Wow! I found one like that at a swapmeet for 30 bucks. Think I agreed to sell it to Justin for the same amount. Might want to inflate the price a bit.

That is a nice link, Dan. I have two of the older catalogs with the photos. They're pretty cool I must say. Below is one of my all time favorites for sure, but not at $70.00...

I wouldn't pay that kind of money for a Tyco F...but I can see why someone would. I've never seen one of those, let alone in an original box in that condition.
