This weeks locomotive is a Mantua General in the Georgia Central livery.
In addition to this, the Western and Atlantic General and the Georgia Central locomotives have both just come out of the shop from restoration.
Here is the entire group together.
All have the original factory stickers on the tenders and the color schemes are all the same as the factory did them.

No. These are part of sets that Tyco/Mantua sold during the early 60's (1961 to be exact).
The Central Pacific is the "Golden West" set.
The Western & Atlantic is the "Dixie Belle" set.
The United States Military Railroad is the "Civil War Centennial" set (Union).
The Georgia Central is the "Civil War Centennial" set (Confederacy).
These were restorations.

Pretty fine collection there George. I'd like to see a set that you have the link and pin couplers on.

I know they were restorations. I was simply curious as to whether, having restored them to their factory-new appearance, you then planned to improve on it.

Barry, here is a link to the Kitbash I did to make a General Locomotive. I also included photos of the link and pin construct that I made.
http://www.tycoforums.com/tyco/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=15433
It's about 3/4 of the way down after I do the link and pin install on the tender.
Zelda, no there may be link and pin couplers installed on the Civil War sets, but that will be the extent of any modifications.

I remember seeing that build George, but I guess I didn't remember the coupler photos. Those look great. I've got one pair of those that came with an older Hi Ballers build, but haven't decided what to use them on yet . . . maybe a period diorama build?

If you only have 1 pair, you might want to use it in a diorama. The ones I use require the old Kadee draft gear boxes(#228) for the #4 coupler.
Buss, if I could find a good photo of the Wanderer, and the necessary decals, I might just do that.

If anyone knows where I can find a GOOD photo (side, front and back views) of the Wanderer, I might just attempt it. The photos would have to be in COLOR. With those, I might be able to make passable decals. Just from what I can remember of the movie (Will Smith one) I would probably use a Rivarossi 4-4-0 for the loco and Roundhouse 50' passenger/baggage/combine cars for the construct.

She is a brass Kemtron Pufferbelly:
Last one I saw listed correctly sold on eBay for over $400! Mine is currently in the mail. I do have two others, but neither are complete. I am hoping this one, although in pieces, is more complete. I can tell, the boiler, tender/chassis and Lindsay Teaspoon of Power truck are present, but I am not sure what else is present or missing. Needless to say, I am excited as this is one of those last few vintage rare pieces I have been hoping to find complete! Keeping my fingers crossed! These are what I have now. As can be seen, they are clearly not complete...

Ken,
No.. Actually a fried of mine purchased that one and showed me after...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Unknown-Mystery-MFG-HO-Brass-4-2-0-Loco-Tender-to-bring-back-to-life-HK-/311560218375?hash=item488a6fa707%3Ag%3AMg4AAOSwu1VW2ikY&nma=true&si=0VjY5uNDMtIIM4vGrycSUQZDOl8%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
He is the one on flickr who does my brass restorations:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/57293605@N07/
He basically stole that one too.
No, the one I purchased is hidden the lot I posted this morning in "Train show and flea market and other finds". I had been watching the lot the entire week and just happened to look the picture about five hours before the end when I spotted the engine peaking through, which was previously hiding from me.

Precision Scale Craft only has certain parts. I have called them to discuss the parts I need to complete the two I have. Fortunately, I have the boilers as they do not. They also do not have the tender shell or chassis, in brass. They do have the other parts, such as bell, pilot truck, drivers, etc...

Don't you know it Ken! The man is an artist!!
We do the restorations on trade for something. Usually I send him 2-4 engines and he keeps one to restore for himself and he restores the rest for me. Never any cash. He restored this for a trade of a perfect Lindsay Teaspoon of Power to equip his first Pufferbelly:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/57293605@N07/albums/72157645256775409
He just did this restoration of his own engine! The man is a genius with a soldering iron:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/57293605@N07/sets/72157664300025826
He never used to take pictures of his restorations until I begged him to take pictures of mine. The work he does is incredible!
This was a disaster of mine I sent him. I think I traded him a shell I had been holding onto that he kept asking me for. It was an engine he did not have. So when this engine came to me, he offered to restore it on trade for the shell. This is the restoration that started all the photos of his later restorations:

On, on, speeds the light, of an engine rolling through the night, the ashpan glows, the stack spews steam, the wheels hum a song and the rails ahead gleam.
On, on Royal Blue, speed o'er the rails rocking fro and to. Engineer, watch the rails ahead, to stop the train if a signal's red.
On, on passenger train! stop you not for wind or rain. The passengers in rest or sleep, Inside your heavy weight cars they'll keep.
Train, train, you're right on time! With your mighty engine, blue paint sublime! Into the station, your whistle blows, engine 638 is noble, in repose!
Taken at night with my Royal Blue 2-8-0 numbered 638 on my back porch railing. She's such a splendid engine, it's hard not to admire her blue paint!
