Okay, I just started doing some weathering stuff. Here it is.

I finally finished up the dirt on the switching layout. The next thing I'll do is bushes.

Thank you, me too. After I'm done, I'm gonna have to file down the track a little bit (it's been in a dusty old attic for 25 years and the dirt's basically solidified on the track so filing is the only thing that's working on it).

A couple years back I bought some steel track to run my Turbo Trains on. All of the rails had varying amounts of corrosion on the surface. Automotive grade sandpaper (1000-2000 grit) worked really well for me. If needed start with a file or coarse sandpaper (300-600 grit) and then work your way to a finer grit. It gives the rails a nice polished surface like they would have come with from the factory. Filing will work on its own but will leave the rails with deep scratches that collect dirt.

Just my 2 cents. The layout is looking good!

Thank you.We do have a few different types of sandpaper as well as a file so it'll work out fine.

I just added some weeds across the layout and a rock. Here's how the layout looks now.
