This plan drawn a while back is of the basic layout I will use for my Tyco trains & slots. It's pre 71 Tyco S slot track. A partial 4 lane slot car track that separtes into 2, two lanes. The red dots are the 6, three inch Road & Rail Crossings . The blue dots are the the Road & Road (intersections). The blue lines are the railroad track. I blue line represents a pair of rails (one track). Drawn to fit an 8X12 table top, but I am figuring on possibly lenthening to 8X16 or 20. At the point where the train track meets the slot track on the other end, I plan to make an "underpass" for the slot cars using Tyco "Bridge Track" connected opposite ends.

Nice draft you got there! Looks very workable. still envious of all your slot/train crossing pieces, that's incredible.

Thanks Jerry, I actualy cut the Slot car crossing photo down in size as you may have noticed. I included that pic so that new members wouldn't think that I wasn't totally dreaming

I have enough crossings & track in nice condition for the layout in any length. I once assembled the layout in a large room on the floor (the slotcar part)

Royal Blue, I'm sure there will be some photos when finished

I've revised my plan up to 8X16 and spread out some of the tight areas. The 6 Red dots are the Tyco 3 inch Road & Rails. The 8 Blue dots are Tyco Road & Road Intersections. The yellow dots is a slotcar underpass. The green dots are the paths of the trains. One row of dots equals two rails (one track). There are two main active railroads and side tracks will vary.

The 8X20 is basically the same plan only longer. I just added more straights to everything...
