More grainy pics but getting more detail on this Center Street section. People, parking meters etc... Have holes drilled for the lights wiring. Repainted the roofs and added roof detail.

I have decided to use the Life-Like ESSO station and the Bachmann Motel behind the center street scene. I painted the motel window sills, chairs & door coral, since the gas station was red and white too. This section may have 24 lights or more as there's 14 already in the Center Street buildings area. Gonna add concrete around Esso and black top at motel. A gravel alley will go through between the buildings.

just a suggestion, Walt turn the corner Esson sign so it shows along the side road & put one of pumps on that side of the road & you got a corner gas station!
its what I'm planning on doing IF I ever find a Tyco Union 76 gas station with double pumps

Good idea, MicroBen! pic shows where the ESSO station will be. It's accessible from two different roads which I'm going to have an entrance on that side too.
Barry, Coral is a nice color and I loved it on the old 50s and 60s cars. Had to paint the red motel parts because the ESSO had the red trim too.
Got the black top laid at the motel today!
Got the concrete poured today.

I believe that I will use this light arrangement around the Life-Like ESSO station. There's 4 Tyco Mercury lights and the 2 very rare Tyco ESSO light poles. Should be a light in the station too.
I have found a permanent but removable way of mounting the light poles. Double sided tape, the thick kind, holds these lights up and in place. The ONLY kind I have found to work is the 3M tape made for auto molding and emblem use.

Put 3 drawers on one side of my layout recently. They are all 24X13 inches inside the drawer. Quite a bit of storage space for train related parts, etc... I'll get some paint on them hopefully soon.

Space: ever the frontier of the model railhead. I spend a bit of time perusing the British Model Railway Forum UK. Many of these guys have very limited free space to work with and build really astonishing layouts in 4x6 and in configurations smaller than that- some with three main lines.
One guy posted an image of his collection in a pantry: just rolling stock he had collected, but apparently no place to run them.
There seems to be some kind of law that if you create a space, you will find a way to fill it.
Tyco, being relatively cheap, on the whole, and endlessly intriguing in its variability, compounds the issue.

Just found this, Jeff... I was fortunate, to get the basement with plenty of room to do my layout even 4 feet longer than ever planned. And yes, there's always something to take up space on the set up... I have seen some really interesting small layouts!

On Saturday evening, I added a 4th drawer to the set I had previously put under the train table. I thought I could always use more storage area. I also relocated the drawers not long ago as I put them right under the area I am going to add 6 inches to. In photo the lower drawer is in beige primer without the knobs. Since been painted the orange color and added knobs..

Bought my first train slot car related auction in a while. This lot has 17, 9 inch straight track and a terminal that I wanted just for extras. Sold for nearly nothing. http://www.ebay.com/itm/152355305038?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&autorefresh=true

Thank You, Zelda... I spent an evening and now have cleaned two of the lanes and have them running. Two lanes left...
ADDED; My daughter & I have been having a blast running the slot car in the evenings. Wish I had time to clean the other 2 lanes this weekend, but I have a funeral to attend out of town. Been trying to do a little each night. Also wanna wipe down the rail on the train track which is much easier...

I noticed my newer Tyco cars stick on the Hill Track if you go too slow over them. Finally I realized that the Hill track were of the 1960s before the magnatraction idea come along. Now all is well along the streets of Tycoville

| I can't believe that it was February when I posted last on my layout... What a sad year as my best friend (my Wife) passed away on June 7th. My layout has sat in the basement with little more than a walk down to lay something I bought on ebay on it. Hopefully, winter will boost my interest to get back on the build, with some new photos, and a movie clip or two...
