Went to my sisters today in Southern, Ohio to have our Christmas day as we do annually. I received no train pieces at all this year. But as always, my nephew with the HO train interest got me these two awesome slot cars!
However in the last two months, I have bought myself nearly $500.00 worth of new Atlas train track, trees and more. It's been an excellent train year for me !

Last night I put a 4 foot shop light up over my layout table. I placed it right in the middle aimed across the 8 foot way. It's neatly in between two floor joists tucked up above the bottoms of them.
I always wondered what mods I would have to make to my large dropdown dust cover. But the light shines nicely down right thru the clear plastic so I did change anything..
I will add two more towards the ends of the 20 foot span in the future...

Thank, Barry The outer track is over 42 feet long ... One side track doubles around and is even longer. A lot of area to display my train cars, but still not sure if there's room for all of 'em!
I counted 88 train cars on my layout table and stopped counting at 100 more still stored in my boxes.

NICE. Shoot us some video. Especially of the dumpsters.
Holy Tyco Batman. You have been a busy fellow. I hadn't checked this post in about...7 or 8 months. You have caught fire, my dear fellow Tycohead. I forgive you for robbing us all of every lamppost known to mankind. Those night shots of the freeway are awesome. In fact, the whole get up is pretty jaw dropping.

Thank You, Barry...
And Thank You, George... Still tons of detailing to be done... But I thank God for what I have and what I have done here..
PLUS, My ProPeak power supply arrived today an just a little while ago I went down and quickly hooked 30 streetlights to it. It worked fine and now I have 64 lights working and it has not even fazed this unit... I love it! And it eliminates a half dozen transformers....

Lighting some building and poles on the block with the &-UP, KFC and the Machine shop. First pic of 7-UP the flash went off. The Tyco Mercury pole light is working here. It puts off a cool blue light that the flash ruined.
Machine shop with a light in it
Notice the blueish Mercury bulb on the left. Have 92 bulbs working now on the Ripmax power pack.

Yes, Ben... The 7-UP building is pretty cool. I actually painted the building completely before adding other paint color details. It lights up nicely with windows on three sides. I originally thought it was drab but I recommend the kit now to others...
The building lights I am wiring direct which makes them brighter than the street lights that are wired in pairs. I have 92 lights working on the one power box now. This evening I hooked up one of the Tyco Blinking Traffic lights at one intersection... This just keeps getting a little crazier!

This Tyco Factory was wired up today. It is the 100th light on the layout being powered by the Ripmax power supply. Of course this building does not light up well. The bulb is too bright and the light shows thru the walls. I will address that issue sometime in the future... like tomorrow...

Actually Barry, I bought a 100 foot roll of the double wire clear wrap 16 gage wire and first run it around the bottom side following the slot car track. Then I branched it out here and there and splice into it with the lighted items. The Pro Peak power supply was designed to have a steady accurate 13.8 volts at all times with a fuse incase of a problem. Explained to me as this is kind of like having a strand of 100 Christmas lights.
The 4 lane lights are wired in a series (half as bright) and the building and 2 lane poles are mostly wired in parallel. I test each bulb before installation to see how bright it is then decide which way to wire it...

Thinkin' of doing this section with ground cover next. I have lights around the Cabinet Factory already. The Tyco restaurants in this section light up well except the HoJo's need a little light bleed thru work... Should be a neat section when done.

| Having both kits to put side by side, I can't say that this is the former McDonalds kit. Obviously they used some tooling to make this kit but they are considerably different. The base is quite different, the walls have a completely different pattern on the exterior side. They do have parts of the same like the common garbage cans that were used with the Life-Like restaurants, the benches, umbrellas etc...

After a lot of talk on how to build my table in late 2013, I'm soo glad I used the overkill method of 2X4s. Here's a pic of why I'm happy I done that. My boy thought it was funny today and snapped this pic...

Funny, I just found my thread where I was questioning what to use, etc... Titled, "Building Layout Table Questions"... A couple of members was urging me to use 2X4s for the sizable layout. One interesting thing is I told one member I didn't think I'd be climbing on the table. That couldn't have been more wrong!

I have been recently planning for a 6 inch addition on this left 20 foot side of my layout. This addition will be easily removable if needed. I have too much rolling stock and need more display room. I figure 2 more 20 foot long tracks will allow me to display over 60 more train cars. Don't want to keep these pieces on a shelf or in a box.

Working on the right side of "Center Street". Lighting all 6 buildings with quite a few light poles along the stores. Quite a crown gathering at the Lowe's Theater...
