Thank You, Richard. I'm really disappointed that I have no real updates and I have been stalling on this one section for about 4 months now. Hopefully within the next few days I will screw the section back in place and wire the light poles.

This week I did take a minute and cut two new sections from a 4X8 sheet of plywood. This must indicate I am wanting to move on to another section... But I will finish the present one first... March 19-14

Small update, I have remounted the section in its place and have most of the lights on that section now. Will wire them soon..I hope..

Recently cut two boards for sections of my layout. One section will have the Tyco Center Street series of buildings as seen in the photo. Sam's car lot is not pictured. I'm not sure the final placement of the Center Street buildings. The other section will have the Life -Like fire station, bank and the Tyco Church.. May put some homes on the rear of these sections. Not sure which section to tackle first...

I, too, am procrastinating sitting here fiddling with the
TF. What I gotta do right after getting off my duff is
lay down some more snow and grass on my 3x3
1880 layout. Sometimes ya just gotta do it. As
Newton said, objects in motion tend to stay in
motion, so I gotta get in motion. Yikes. Here we
go. Just one more minute...

If it helps, ya gotta super cool concept there. Put on
some music and git to work.

By the way, when I tried fusing slots with Tyco, one
idea I had was to try to rig up the train to a hand
held slot car throttle so as to try to race the slot cars
on the straights.

In the 70s on my layout I would set the trains at a speed and let them run. Then we could concentrate on the slot cars...

Going to clean up this bridge, stick a few more shrubs in the overlaps, pour
water this afternoon, try a few icicles on the covered bridge and call it a day.

Tommorow, the grisly task of removing layers of glue, paint, etc from rails and
see if I can make it run.

Lot more work than I anticipated, but then the scenery has to be more rugged as
this layout is intended to bounce around and travel to shows and what not.

A photo shot of the sections that I am working on. Since photo , removed and covered with wood filler to smooth the surface. 2 large sections with two small sections that connect them. Not sure if the motel and Exxon will be behind the church.

That is quite a spread there Walt. I'm forgetting how big that layout is? I dig the business district layout and the parking lot area behind the buildings . . . great place for trouble to start.

Thank You, Barry! Yes there is a lot of area to detail. 8 feet by 20. Seems like it's impossible to get it all covered. Getting ready to layout road bed and train tracks soon. Worst thing for now is Im only home a few days a week. I actually take pieces with me to work on while I'm gone at night.. But slowly making progress... I think...

A couple of updates; Thinking of using this 33X33 inch area for the Tyco truck terminal building with a bunch of the piggyback trucks & trailers. The only two buildings by the 4 lane will be the remaining "Center Street" school and Sam's Used Cars.

Have my A&P building near complete...

Found this Tyco school on eBay and plan to paint mine similar..

With the size of your urban area Walt, I can see how you as the town administrator have some tough calls trying to give careful thought to the logic of the town layout. That is quite a spread. Gonna be some cool nooks and crannies when you get down to the nitty gritty. Keep the photos comin' Walt.

I have to agree with that one.

Spotted this Tyco Truck Terminal kit on ebay for $25.00 plus $10.00 S/H.. Or make offer. I sent a low offer of $15.00 and the seller accepted it! This building will go on the 33X33 inch section mentioned / pictured above... This is the final building that I will buy for my layout... Have had a little time to partially assemble the truck Terminal with a mist coat of black on the roof and painting the doors... Will add more detail...

Hi, Barry! Summer had slowed me down quite a bit but I have been building some of my Life-Like homes and found where they are going to be placed. I'm not going to use the sectional board in this area. I have recently bought a bunch of nice spring time trees and evergreens to use around these homes, plus what ever else I can come up with... Hey, Barry. I was/am using the wood filler to make a nice smooth surface for the landscaping materials. I am considering buying a real thin piece of plexiglass or plastic, to build this section on. Want to change this section from the others some.

Decided to build this scene section directly on the tabletop. Smoothed a 24 X 30 inch area with the wood filler. Had to place a couple of homes with some of Life-Like's Spring trees. Will actually paint this area and add a winding one lane drive thru the homes and other detail..

Laying out some new Atlas track now. Waiting on two packs of Atlas assorted short pieces. Walt to get one complete rail around the layout. Then I'll do a second one, then the side tracks. I believe I will have 5 tracks where the pic shows 4. The 5th will be 8 foot long with a bumper on the end.

Walt, I hope you've got space in that room for guests to come and view it. Looks to me like it's going to be one of those "gotta check this out" things. Be like going in one of the cooler stores in that existed yet in the late 50's and early 60's where you could here the trains roaring around the layout before you got to it.

Yes, Barry... There plenty of room in the basement around the layout for quite a crowd. I'm already getting some of that "I'd like to come over sometime and help you" do this or that...

Pretty cool Walt. Looks like everyone got things done while this site was down. I can imagine that was quite fun runnin' that train for the first time.

Received on Thursday the Atlas nickel silver track that I had bought new on ebay. This completed all of my track needs minus 3 bumper tracks. Have the train track laid out and now have to prepare to place the roadbed , mount the track and add ballast... Layout getting interesting now...
