Detailing the Atlas Modern Home with a little paint work on the bricks. More to go with the grassy areas and walk ways... Both upper floors sections are just sitting unglued in the photo.

I noticed a couple of weeks ago that control number 1 on my Tyco DuelPak transformer was not working correctly. It would only power the train at close to full speed, it had no slow or mediums speeds. I had never had one of these apart but I took the cover from it and cleaned and adjusted the controller that was faulty. I did not clean the other controller as it works very well. I tested the side I repaired and it worked fine now. I then noticed my Tyco switcher had that intermittent dry squeal to it so I brought it upstairs and oiled it. It's back to running smooth now. Two repairs all done after midnighgt!

This house looks like something Frank Lloyd Wright would have designed! If you chose to detail the interior, be sure to include some strategically placed buckets to catch water from the leaking roof!

Added a bit more detail to the Modern Home. Hazed the steps and walk not hardly visible in pic. Added grass. Will sweep the grass off of the steps soon... Scott, having a hard time finding HO scale buckets!

Thank You, wks... Found a couple of pieces of my original train cars that I had in the early 70s. This is what I ended up with from having train track just and inch or so from the edge of my table... They were replaced by the nice ones in the photo...

The house looks great Walt. I had a few cars make the leap to the floor myself back in the day. Wish i still had my old cars sadly most were donated or junked by my parents. At least 2 of them look like they can ride the rails again.

Clearing off this 8 square foot area for my farm area. I have quite a bit of farm stuff purchased by my ex-wife many years ago. The farm was in our plans so I always have saved a place for it.

Actually, Chops... This was my first wife who we still make contact once in a while after 10 years. We separated on good terms after being together many years. My second wife passed away as you know in June of 2017... She enjoyed going to the basement to see my train table and was always happy when I bought something for it... A very good person who left a real empty place at this home...

I've been thinking of adding more drawers like under the one corner of my layout table. After some thought, I'm thinking of replacing the area that my train controls are on. My plan is to make the top drawer with a hinge able front face with my transformers in it. Pull it out and hinge the front down to expose the controls to the trains. The drawers below will just be for storage of extra train pieces, cars, trees, etc...

Always like those grainy night shots- reminiscent of "The Heat of the Night." Nice bunch of BN semis- don't see that every day. The Matchbox collection: I could see how those could hook a guy on yet another slippery slope, I'd better stay at a safe distance! Those were the bomb, in the day.
Question: is that little red sedan on top a Vauxhaul? I think a Vauxhaul was like a British Ford- Dad had one done in the day. I think it cured him of exotics.

Hi, Chops... The red car on top is the number 56 Fiat which Matchbox produced in a turquoise color very common,(also boxed on the top row). Matchbox offered the red Fiat in a set, I'm thinking it was a BP gas set, I would have to look again... The red version can be a little pricey. I never come with it's own little box.

Walt I have that same shelf shaped like a truck but different colors. found it at a thrift shop a couple of weeks ago. Some of those early Matchbox were advertised as ho scale in Model Railroader back in the 50's and 60's.

Yes, Chops. Same as the turquoise Fiat. My Fiat is one on the Matchbox cars that I saved form childhood... Had it for many years...
Cool, Bamos… I found this at a huge flea market. I believe I got the thing for $8. I immediately knew what I wanted it for.. And yes, the Matchbox are very close to the size of my slot cars...

I, for one, would definitely enjoy seeing more vintage Matchbox pieces, and Hot Wheels, in the forum. Is there an exisiting thread, and oh Lord, I hope I don't get hooked on that slippery slope. They are all miniature works of art and reflect a time, a mood, a place... you know how that goes.
That Fiat looks so much like the Old Man's Vauxhaul from back in the early 1960's. He finally shed himself of that cranky, fussy automobile and got a Ford Galaxy 500. We felt like we had arrived.

Love the trailer caravan #23 also! It come in at least one more color that I believe is yellow. The pink is common and I don't know if the yellow changed the price it brings now... The turquois fiat is common with only a fair price demand. Love this little car...

Decided to work on the hinged drawer today. Got the front off and sanded for paint after making the front hinge open and closed.
Also spent some time building and painting the farm house. I have had the pail yellow walls painted for quite a while...

My top drawer in the early stages. Open drawer and slide it out for access to the transformers to operate the trains, light ups, etc... I will add a little front floor brace across and paint the hinged part of the drawer. Drawer has been cleaned and sanded well for paint adhesion... Also, a small slide lock to keep it closed well when not in use...

Your farm house is looking good Walt . I have been finding some vintage Matchbox at the thrift stores they are usually in a bag with a lot of other cars so im getting a quite of collection of 70's and newer Matchbox, Hot Wheels, Zee and Road Champs cars and trucks. When I don't want to do a big project on the Layout i will strip and paint some of them to look more like their real life counterparts.

Thank You, Bamos… I had a nice collection of the old Regular Wheels Matchbox as a kid but destroyed so many of them. At some point I decided to put them in their boxes and stuffed them in the headboard area of my bed and keep them nice. I may buy a few more MIB at some point.

| Spent a little time on Monday removing the original section that held my power packs. It's easy since I use screws with a flower type screw head. Doing some measuring to get the drawers correct. I have 4 drawers that I am likely going to use all of them.
