hey! I just had a idea!
Why don't you drill some tiny holes in the parking lots so that the pin on the slot cars can be inserted

| Great idea, Ben...I had thought about in the past but I just can't do it... I can remove the guide pins fairly easily for better parked car photos...

Looking thru my light ups boxes today I found these Mercury poles. I never knew these come packaged in left and right applications... Also counted my replacement Fluorescent poles to find that I have 79 to use for burnt out or damaged poles...

I had that modern house on my layout as a kid. Saw it awhile ago at a show and I've been kicking myself for not picking it up. Nice find!

As I mentioned a few days ago, I bought an Atlas Modern Home kit on Ebay. Seller Claimed not sure if it's complete, but it all seems to be there other than the assembly directions. At the same time there was a second auction with the modern home on with an Atlas train depot. I thought I would place a weak bid of only $5.13, and ended up winning it for Only $3.25 plus shipping. Hopefully this one will have direction that I can copy, and any parts if I find something missing... https://www.ebay.com/itm/HO-Scale-Vintage-Atlas-Passenger-Station-Kit-Built-Up-Atlas-Modern-Home-/273785433597?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=aHEkhu%252BTTaMJsD91ovxLEfVjIkI%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc

Thank You, RP... I want to detail the brick areas on the kit and will only build one of them... Gary B, a member on here said he passed one up a while back and regreted it so I will probably see if he would like my second kit... I am pretty certain now that both are complete...

Not sure why I went down to the basement last night just after midnight but I ended up around my train table. Next thing I know I have an engine puttering around that needed oil so I done that. Then thought I would clean that rail around the table so it would run better. My last pass was with a string of 11 Tyco flat cars with piggyback trailers, one of each offered. Come back upstairs at 2:30AM... I enjoyed that for the first time since my wife passed away on June, 7th, 2017...

Always nice to see your updates concerning your layout Walt. Always hard to see someone you love die at a young age. But operating your layout brings back some enjoyment. Hopefully it lessens your sorrow and pain a bit. This is still a great hobby to enjoy.

Thank You, guys... Lots of ground detail ahead including the road(s) from home to home. Not sure how these homes will be placed yet. The area to work with is basically 28 X 43 inches and more where the trees are, etc... :) Plus this older photo with a few trees placed around...

An older pic of the 6 railroad crossings on my layout still lacking ground cover. The 3rd rail is a quite long side track. I have since bought Walther's correctly working crossing flashers and the activators that go under the track and detect when a train is near...

The trees, RP & Chops are Life-Like Spring trees. Some time ago I spotted a pack on ebay that had both of those really colorful pink trees in it. I bought them, and have never seen another pack with those colors in it... They certainly demand attention...

A little story as I have discussed my Bachmann F7 and problematic trying to pull many cars. Today, I place a 9 volt battery on top of the engine rear and it pulls the 9 hopper train that was in my last clip.
SECOND story, I cleaned my D&H 630 last night and re oiled it. When placed back on the track just the light come on. I heard that too much oil can ruin one of these motors. My question is, they operate like an AFX slot car that you can work with and burn any extra oil out of?? Does this not apply?

Nice 2nd video of your D&H C630 in action, walt! That's quite interesting that a 9-volt battery seemingly solved the issues with your Bachmann F7......and in regards to oiling a PowerTorque motor too much, I believe it is possible. I used a little bit of Vaseline to lube my C630's pinion gear, and now it squeals pretty much every time I fire it up, and the gears sound like they have been drenched in oil.
I can certainly identify with your present HO train issues, as a few months ago my Tyco Chattanooga steamer popped the pinion gear in the tender, and just yesterday, my Comin' Round the Mountain SD24 also popped its pinion gear. :(
