This is not my post, I did not start it. It was one that weks started. It was started twice in test forums. A place to learn how to use this forum. Not a place for new ideas on threads. It clearly says that from time to time test posts are removed from here. Weks if you wish to start it again please do so here in loose ends. I only copied the first post with the 29 photos in it. I will be removing this because it isn't my post or photos. frank
I am updating this thread since the previous one was deleted for some unknown reason. I like to travel to different stadiums to see various games. Here are some of my photos. First up is Citi Field the home of the New York Mets. Next up is Yankee Stadium the home of the New York Yankees.

Some photos from Monday night at Citi Field. Yankees vs Rays. Three game series held in New York due to flooding in Tampa. Rays were the home team there so they were designated the home team in NY. Mainly Yankee fans at this stadium.

A wonderful photo of a stadium I visited many times starting in 1970.
Shea Stadium opened in 1964 and closed in 2008. Home for the Mets and the Jets and the Beatles and Billy Joel and so many other performers.
Not a favorite among many people but still was home for many wonderful events. I saw many great games there and some lousy games as well.
Saw many great baseball players over the decades.
Hank Aaron Mike Schmidt Willie Mays Lou Brock Steve Garvey Steve Carlton Pete Rose Roberto Clemente Johnny Bench
and so many others.
It is a parking lot now but the memories will live on. Wish it was still there though.

Although the Mets game was the main event the subway trip was part of the adventure.
First subway line to take to Shea Stadium would be the D train at 59 Street and 8 Avenue. That station was close to my grandparents apartment where I lived as a child. Would wait for a vintage train with my very patient grandfather.
Next subway line to take to Shea would be the F train at 14 Street and 6 Avenue.
Third and final line would be the 7 train at 74 Street in Queens.
Finally reach Shea Stadium station stop and head to the stadium to see the Mets with my grandfather.
Started this in 1970 after the Mets amazing 1969 season. My grandparents got me interested in baseball and I would always thank them for it.
They and the stadium and some of the 1969 Mets are gone but not forgotten.
These photos of the subway trains and Shea Stadium are not mine. But those photos remind me of all the good times back in the day. Many thanks to the photographers who post them on the internet.

Went to the Nassau Coliseum on Sunday to see the Harlem Globetrotters.
Have more pictures of the game but since this is a train forum..
Former train station and now a fire house station in Garden City New York.
Clinton Road crossing next to the station.
Freight only tracks looking toward the Coliseum area.
Fire museum near the Nassau Coliseum.
HO scale layout in an apartment building near my house.
Was not running on Sunday but still looked nice to photograph.

Yes a shame about that Condolences
The tracks in Garden City pics are EXEMPT (says it on the crossing signs) They were used for the unloading of animals for the circus at Nassau Coleisium Petty Sure I posted pics of the last train there on this site
The whole area at Uniondale was industrial with many freight sidings they were abandoned in the late sixties or seventies Hofstra University parking lots were once runways for Mitchel field were Lindbergh took off The site where he flew from is now a parking lot for a shopping mall
There is also an aviation museum near the fire house one with a small HO layout
Old 39 was there last I heard 39 is in pieces at Oyster Bay

Some audio I recorded back in May 1999.
From Kauffman Stadium during a game between the Blue Jays and the Royals. I had an old tape recorder for taping sounds from the game.
Today there are no games but we still can enjoy baseball foods.
And plenty of photos from May 1999.

Some internet photos of the Phillies which may interest you Jeff.
Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia in the beginning on April 1971.
One of their usherettes in her 1970s Hot Pants Patrol outfit.
Decades later some of the new employees copied that outfit in the 2000s.
Would probably not be allowed these turbulent times.

The Boys of Summer. Strange times, these. I really thought the virus would burn out come summer, nope.
A very strong debate exists about the origins of American baseball. I love a good mystery, but there is a lot of evidence that prior to Cooperstown a variant of British cricket, called "Rounders," was played in the early USA.
BTW, where do I sign up to become a Phillies fan??
Man has been hitting balls for a very long time. Some years ago I got to see a re-enacted game of an ancient Mayan rugby like game, using a ball, that was bounced off the hips of the opponents through a hoop made of stone mounted on a 45 degree sloped stone wall.
I would have thought this wholly impossible, had I not seen it with my own eyes, not only did the players knock it through an impossibly small hoop of stone, they did this while standing on the sharp slopes, and made it look easy.
The losers were made into human sacrafices. Oh boy. (And some will say Columbus was a bad dude. Really. How does that work?)

Let me begin by saying that I'm not concerned whether this makes me unpopular in the eyes of some, I must speak the truth.
I've seen various disturbing images and conversations occurring in some topics under the "Loose Ends" thread, mainly at the entertainment of 2 forum members. Such content is inappropriate at best, and has no place here - a forum dedicated to audiences of all ages and for the promotion of train collection and Tyco history, not the propagation of lust.
So, I've written a message and email to the forum administrator reporting this issue and hope to see it rectified. I've had similar experiences on other forums, except this time I'm not relinquishing the battle.

Just so you know you're not out flapping in the breeze by yourself, RP, I also think we could afford an infusion of good taste, and frankly it wouldn't hurt to remember that this is primarily a train forum.

I took it off even though it was not offensive. Apparently to some it is. Need to inform the member immediately if a post bothers you. After 48 hours someone in authority needs to remove the post.
Unnecessary to bother the moderators since they have enough stress in daily life.
