here is what I did for billboards on my layout I took a buissness card from my favorite train store and I glued it onto some toothpicks and I had a billboard. Its not to scale but I don't care very much so then the next time I went to the store I showed it to him and he gave me some more buisness cards and I made some more and while I was in Albequrque I visited AT&SF #2926 and got one of their buissnes cards they are on my layout now
here is the store's buisness card

here is his other buisness

here is his friend's buisness

here is the 2926

Most of the train shows that I have been to have been in albequrque because It is one of the closest towns with train stuff and a train store and train shows to durango

Nice, I’ve been to Carl’s Train Room, too. Durango being
the narrow gauge center of North America, you’d have
more model train action.

it's a pretty neat store very small but lots of very interesting used stuff yeah I think durango has more model railroaders then meets the eye it takes a bit of research to find them but after all there is soundtraxx and San Juan car company I found a model train club and emailed them they're going to try to do a meeting in August

Great idea! I one time thought about using Life-Likebillboards with my own cut out advertisements. But I realized that my whole layout was about the items that I had as a kid, and followed that plan... I actually done an Ebay billboard but realized that it just wasn't what I had to have! My original layout was 20+ years before Ebay come along...
