Another nice find Carl.
Cool looking passenger cars Ken. Is the bottom one a car to house the passengers' horses?
55, good looking "aged" hopper.
Defunct, that car have any "treasures" in it? Old TYCOs by chance?
Here's my car(s) of the week. Southern Crescent Limited Passenger cars. Not sure what brand yet, sure someone on here can look and identify quickly. Just got today from that bidding site! Thought my new (too me) Rivarossi Pacific Southern Steamer would look good pulling these even though not from same era.
Oh well my railroad!

Those are 100% Tyco Nice set! The Crescent Limited seems to be one of the harder to find roadnames...I have yet to find a set

Thanks DeCheez. Thought the truck ends looked similar to old TYCO riveted on couplers, but someone put Kadee couplers on these. They are also completely different from my later Amtrak passenger cars which have plastic bottoms that are somewhat detailed. The Southern cars are just plain metal with no detail. These look to be from the 1963 time frame, old as me!
So my $35 bucks were well spent?!

I would say so
Somewhere in the early 70's Tyco switched from metal floors to plastic. The cars with the metal floors are dual lighted

I've watched a few of the Auto Loader Lionel auctions, and they go high ( $50 plus ). Only cheap ones I've seen are missing the autos. You got a GREAT bargain on both, but I'd love to have the auto rack. thanks for posting so we could drool over them.
