I recently found this Athearn covered hopper, a memorial to Irv Athearn. Pretty cool, I know MB, the top of the car needs a touch of glue on the walkway.

Nice commemorative car, I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for that one, Irv was one of the hobby legends...
This 'boose has Micro-gloss windows in it, they are made from a thick gel that, when properly applied, don't look half bad when dried.

Hi All,
Great stuff! It's been a long time since I got anything new as far as trains go. These are not new, I just happen to catch the color difference on the boat in Alco Fan's picture. Is red/white blue/white the only colors these were made in? When were these made? I just love this boat style.
I have been trying to find something to post but had been prety dry lately. The only thing new to me are Hot Wheels and Matchbox my Wife found for me.
Thanks for sharing.
Mike

Athearn still makes these cars in their RTR line - they have green and white boats too. You might be able to get them as package without the cars. Larry

These were a joint venture between Athearn, Bev-Bel and CM shops. They often appear on ebay and usually sell for 10-15 dollars. Larry
