I built this for my son. He designed it himself, using Life like Power Loc track and a piece of regular 18" radius was used on the homemade bridge. The civilian train running on the track is mine. I also use it to test locomotives and rollling stock on as well. This layout has had more work and more soldiers and military vehicles added since this photo was taken.

He has three of the Army missile firing cars NIB by Model Power, plus a painted Fire Fox launcher. There's two exploding Ammo boxcars, and a ground missile launcher. There are some current MP engine and cars made from Marx HO tooling included here as well.

Yes they are, microbuss. They are twigs that have fallen from the tree in the front yard. I also have another red MKT car that is empty. I also have a yellow Frisco car that I used the twigs for wood loads. I also have another yellow Frisco car that is empty as well. I use the cars for operation sessions as staging cars. Eventually, I intend to get the remaining roadname cars that were made for AHM, and have one loaded and empty.

He even has the G.I. Joe engine, 2 tank cars, and caboose. The Special Forces gondola is also included, even though it is from the Rambo set.

I just won a bid on a set of Tyco Army train items, comes with the Hustler AND the F engine, the F needs some work, but oh well. So I'll have my own Army train soon.

I finally got a few pieces of Army train last week, the 3 cars are all Tyco, but the Hustler is AHM with gear drive, and the F unit is a Cox needing some truck help. I think just the power wire is broken, it should snap back into place. I haven't tried to fix it yet. I have a few more cars I can put with this, a MASH work train piece, and a flat with green tractor and trailer on it.

Looks like you got some good pieces there, Jerry. The layout itself is almost completed. In fact, we did some painting of ledges and the water on the one side.

Just when I think I'd seen 'em all. This is pioneer work and I love it! Your son should be very proud to have built such a remarkable and memorable layout. The theme is consistent and cohesive. The feel of it makes me think of an Army camp training exercise. I love the way he brought in different elements, like the WWII era fighter plane- it just builds on the overall excitement. Well done!!
