Hi Ken. The crane is a Train Miniature, Tru scale or Walters. The TM and Tru Scale models had Diecast Metal Flatcar Base. The Walthers model was Plastic and had a Metal Plug that sat in the bottom of the flatcar for weight. Here are pictures of a TM and a Tru scale... Carl

Train Minuture was the baseline of what is todays Walthers! This is why the crane in the days of TM had a metal flat car, and the Walthers version is plastic......They are cut from the same design paper......Walthers bought out Train Miniture.....

Just like Athearn is based off Globe!
