It's definitely a Mantua/Tyco.

Thank you very much! I knew it had to be one since the eBay seller said it was model power which is way off.

Yep. Ya can tell by the stereotypical white worm gear and the tender details. Would the boiler be available to buy?

It could be an early Mantua Classics by Model Power. Model Power bought the molds and re-released some of the older Mantua steam. Parts are mostly interchangeable. yardbirdtrains.com is a great source for parts for older steam locomotives.

Thanks guys! And to redneck Justin, yes if I do get this engine which I should I will gladly sell u the boiler an anything else you want. I already have a newly painted black boiler. As a spare for my 0-4-0 project so either way when I get a parts supplier loco I'll sell u the boiler. I might not need the tender since I just rebuilt one and it looks fantastic. So all I need off this engine for sure is the wheels and rods and the motor for a spare. Everything else id part with. To catfordken, I love your shifter and pony.

Green one looks like a die cast boiler version. Black one shown as Tyco is a later plastic boiler version. I think they called that the "Shifter II" -

Just remember that the running gear on the plastic boiler version uses a traction tire on one wheel--the metal boiler doesn't. I've actually got a tray of 0-4-0 and 0-6-0 parts including wheels, rods, motors, bolts, etc. from different locos I've scavenged. If anyone's interestd, PM me. Chris
