So a few weeks ago I posted the "Large-Logo" version, and surmised that must have been the first one. Well, I think I was wrong... this HAS to predate it:

It's the closest yet found to the catlog-only version. The "Trailer Train" text on the rack is the same stamp as used on the flatcar base. Note that the "TT" logo is even larger, and moved higher to fit. Harder to tell is the orange plastic is much darker than the other cars I have, but close enough at a glance.
This came in its original box, which was originally stamped for the piggyback set. An "Autoloader 349..." label was made at the factory to cover that printing. So apparently this version predates Tyco even having the pre-printed boxes ready! The flatcar tooling shows the same pristine ejector-pin markings as the other early (but later) Large-Logo version.
Now if only it were yellow...

Nice! Those camaros and AMXs look almost factory-fresh. You have a nice one there. Some day I'll get all ( 15-25? ) of mine in one place and check them out.

OK Tony... Do have any idea how many times you have caused me to rummage through everything to see exactly what I have? LOTS!
I have a few of these TT cars as I wanted to make a consist of them, hopefully I have some of the variants.

| I was thinking the other day that a whole consist of these WOULD be pretty freegin' sweet. I think I've ended up with about 6 of the cars, with enough autos to fill about 5 of them. Too bad Tyco never made a Frisco loco to make a hotshot unit train (they made a caboose; what gives there?)

I probably have only enough cars to fill two of the auto loaders. Over the years I've been picking up the ho scale die cast cars whenever Walmart had them. I have plenty of those. At a dollar a piece it was easy to throw a few in the cart and my wife Dawn didn't say anything about it. I can't let her see all of them together

Yeah, I have a ton of those too, the Street Whips vans, Fresh Cherries, and Malibu International cars. Man, I wish that fad hadn't ended... but maybe it's a good thing too, ha ha. I bought a bunch of Accurail autoracks those though.
Somehow I think the Tyco (and Athearn) Autoloader would just look too out of place in that consist. But all together, filled with period autos (maybe the ones from Bachmann as well) would be pretty neat. I will say the Autoloader does look a lot better when filled with just one type of car. At least they're plentiful enough to get fairly cheap.

I've got three of the autoloaders but only enough cars for two. I was at a show last year when I found what I thought might be the right cars. When I explained why I was interested, the seller explained that they were not the right ones. He was willing to sell them but did not want me to be disappointed.
Yesterday, I saw a 1:1 (truck) car carrier with new cars plus a 1955 Chevy on the top - a very pretty and clean one. Oh I paid no attention to the new cars. Kinda tells you my age.
Cheers Bill
