Hello, I'm new to the forum and have just started to collect some HO. I also have some American Flyer and some Lionel equipment. I have smaller radius curves on my HO layout and the early Tyco stremliner passenger cars (Santa Fe) with metal floors and metal trucks work well on my layout and I like their looks. Some of the bulbs are out in my cars. These bulbs have threaded bases about .200" diameter with the glass part a little smaller and a total length of about .675". What do you all use as replacements for this bulb and where do you get them? I see a Lifelike 1213 bulb up on ebay which looks similar but I don't know if it will work. Thanks

HI, Geno, welcome to the Tyco Forum. I've found some of the screw-based bulbs, they're 12 or 14 VDC, at Radio Shack in the gray trays they have for hobby and projects. I bought an assortment to try out in my old HO engines and passenger cars, but to be truthful, they're still in the packages ( somewhere ). I haven't actually tried them yet. But they do have bulbs that will work with 12v and higher DC voltages. Try there first.

Those are the exact ones I've used to replace bulbs in my Tyco streamliners and engines. They're dead-on, drop in fits (you have to do a little soldering of course )
I've never tried the bulbs from Radio Shack, but if they fit, I'd imagine that would be a cheaper route to take
Welcome to the forum BTW!
