Hi
I have a Mantura/Tyco F-9 (early style) motorized truck that needs to be disassembled and repaired. Rivets secure it fore and aft. I imagine I can just ground off the rivet ends to remove them to access the electric motor. Are replacement rivets or better yet a screw bolt assembles available? Has anyone done this repair and what have they used to reassemble the trucks? Anyhow I appreciate any knowledge on this matter.

I have done this to a few of those trucks.
I drilled the rivits out and replaced them with bolts. I don't recall the length.
On one I tapped the holes in the housing, drilled the holes oversizeon the bottom plate and bearings for bolt clearance and installed short bolts in the bottom and tops of the holes.

Here are a couple of links on tips for these trucks.

Hello. I to have performed this rebuild on one C430 power truck replacing the rivets with small screws and nuts. I inserted the pan head screws through the bottom, securing the nuts on top. I plan on doing this to my remaining fleet of C430's and F9A's.
Keep those Tyco's rollin'.

Running hot,

I have several Mantua engines that run very warm to
hot in about 10 minutes of constant running at various speeds. I really don't want to tear the power trucks apart. Is there a suggestion out there as to cleaning and oiling and tuning without doing much more than popping the truck out of the shell?
Does anyone have any thoughts about using the clear replacement traction tires on your Mantuas?
