Hello Everyone,
Have been working on the long promised Life-Like Ho-Scale Trains Resource and should be launching it on the web by July 1st. This site will focus on the R-T-R offerings from Life-Like from its beginnings in the late '60s taking over many of the former Varney molds to the recent Walthers purhcase of the toy and hobby division of Life-Like. Loads of pics and neat stuff like the Life-Like Spirit of '76 and Circus trains will be included.
Will link the Life-Like site at the bottom of the TYCO Trains Resource's home page when its ready.

Tony: Terrific news about the exposition of Life Like's early offerings. I've often been curious about the last dying gasp of Varney; the removal of "HQ" to Baltimore (proximal to Life Like) as advertised in the fine print on the boxes of the last of their offerings in '66-7 like the Yugoslavian RS-11 which became the backbone of so many early Life Like sets like my favorite "Big Hook" and "Work Train" sets, which are pure Varney-inspired, right down to the reproduced plastic Varney transfer truck and ramp. There must, indeed, be a serious following for the circus offerings in particular, if amazing (to me) auction prices realized for MIB LL circus cars on eBay are any indication. Thanks again! Hello:
The Life-Like HO-Scale Resource will go online no later than Monday July 31, 2006.
If you haven't stopped by the AHM Resource in some time, it has been remodeled and has many new images and info and more coming there in the near future.
Thanks,

Looks great Tony. I may be able to get some of the stock numbers and a few photos of locos and cars if you need them.

yes, the site looks very nice.
Just a sugguestion, seeing as i'm only 14 years old, and dont know that much about the older stuff, would it be possible to get the newer offerings up? i see you have the GP38-2, but not much else
And, like Tyco, LL has released a set in Australian colours, green and gold Australian National paint, which in a few months i may be able to provide a photo of if you want
Great site too [8D] [8D]

Looks good so far, need to flesh out the info on some of the models though but as you said, it's a work in progress...
I'm amused by the use of the term "Precision Engineered" by LL, I had never seen that before. Of course I was familiar with the phrase from Tyco (a sad, cruel, ironic joke to see this label on powertrourqed locos), and then of course was introduced to PEMCO (Precision Engineered Model CO?) through this site. But LL as well? HA!
This must be similar to the use of "Scientifically Weighted" a generation earlier that was discussed on another thread...
