I recently acquired 2 SAKAI engines new in their original boxes. Part number on box says 578/94 and the engines are 2-6-2 types with the cabs numbered as 327. The tenders are marked HUSDON & PACIFIC. There are no documents in the boxes.

Can anyone tell me more about these engines?

Thanks!

Rick

hi revrik and welcome to site, if you can post a picture or 2 it will help but apart from being Japanese, and the maker of various types of locos in brass/plastic and various gauges, and some are even battery powered need to see the loco, Sakai are supposedly the company behind the name maraklin, deliberately aimed at the Austrian market ken
is one of the locos a hudson&pacific number 327

For all purposes you have the info there. The same loco in the same box but with a brand name of Champ were also released. They are a toy train line. Short on detail everywhere from product to packaging. What they did do was rerelease the Glibert freight car line. However the gilbert dies wound up in Japan I dont know. The locos I had lost quatering quickly, with the wheels coming free of there axels. The cars I still have.

hi frank, what you think of this statement from the link on my last posting ken
"Still unclear is the origin of a tram on the American model, with only the 'Japan' is marked on the ground. The construction of the motor car is made of plastic with weights at both sides. Pantograph and the pantograph brackets are identical with those of the trolley bus. In addition there was a trailer with the same case. This 'tandem Trolley Tram' was also of Silvine sold in the United States. The plastic body was later acquired by Tyco (Mantua) continue to be used (with a different engine and chassis pantographs). Caption: 'CITY RAILWAY COMPANY 15 634' on both sides and 'PAY ENTER' on the front pages."
true or false you think

Ken ; The only thing I know of what you have said is the silvine trolley seams to have become the Tyco railcar. Tyco kept the one axel drive for awile but with a plastic frame instead of silvines metal one. Then Tyco added a trolley pole, a two axel drive, and it continued on as a trolley as well.
