This Atlas GP38 is another loco I picked up at the LHS that was marked DOA. Another decoder reprogram and it's a runner.

sweet loco eaglerock  But I think the front vent cover is coming off

firstly,sorry to hear you guys are getting hit by further bad weather,and you all get through it without any problems,my loco this week is a twin to the ps4 i already have,1401 southern crescent,this is 1395 southern,obtained on ebay well cheap in my eyes,and runs sweat and quiet,so i suspect its had mods done to motor which i will check out later ken

Here is my Loco from the the train show in Mass. It was billed as Dead Dead Dead, I cleaned it, oiled it, and now it runs 11 seconds around my 33 foot track. Looks like new, runs like new.Not bad for $5.00 bucks.

Christopher,
Gotta love the C430 Alco in Sante Fe colors. Glad to hear it you got it running. I think a lot of the time owners had trouble with them, couldn't or didn't clean it and it's tossed aside. I base this on the fact that when you look at them at shows they don't show much wear at all. A nice addition to your collection.

| That would be the Dynamic Brake Fan. Might be loose, but I'm sure it snaps in place. Otherwise implies too much speed for the loco's own good, ha ha

I love buying fixer-uppers. Usually the engines weren't maintained properly or there was a broken wire.
