LotW Jan 23-29
Sunday, January 23, 2011
I thought I'd start the week off with a 1940's Hobbytown die-cast PA painted in MKT's Deramus era red.

Ok, the title missing LOTW threw me off, but I'll post here and let the Admin fix it. My lotw is paired with my cotw, a Bachmann Thrill Show piece. I think it's an F7. One day I'll figure it all out. Anyway, here's my ol' 1-2 for something red, white, and blue.

Well I will keep with the Hobbytown theme, this is a Cary GP-9 shell with a Hobbytown flywheel drive. It is one of my many unfinished projects, not sure if I have A.D.D. but I have trouble finishing a project.

Do you find yourself gung-ho at first, then lose some drive as time goes on? I think it's just that some of us ( me included ) get bored of the long-term project. We tend to prefer shorter projects. I've got shelves full of half-done work, I get going, then my interest and motivation seems to disappear. I think I just need to rotate my projects, and get them done over longer periods. which happens anyway, but take a more organized approach to it. Then again, I'm an INFP, organization is great, but I have a hard time maintaining it.

I should mention, that I took this engine to the Ozarks Model Railroad Association, a model railroad club in Springfield, MO, and ran this engine on their layout and pulled 30 freight cars with this engine. that's how much pulling power it has.

Classic AHM Santa Fe C-liner, Note the missing horns
This is my very first locomotive, came in a set given to me by my parents around Christmas 1974ish. Still runs!

Here is an Atlas Dash-8 I picked up at the LHS on the consignment shelf. It was labeled as DOA but I took a chance. It is DCC, I reset the decoder to CV8 (factory setting) and it was up and running. I also picked up a SF GP38, same condition, same fix.
