I finally have been getting my train and slot car stuff straightened out. The 2 sheets of plywood table is now gone. I have a 4x8 table currently set up with nothing on it. My Golden Eagle engine need's some couplers, traction bands, and routine maintenance. I have no clue what couplers I need I've bought three packs of couplers and all of them are wrong. I also need some wheels, trucks and couplers for much of my rolling stock. Last thing I have is a Diesel F9 made by Bachmann that I need a gear for. Where do I get parts? I do not care if they are aftermarket parts. Do things from life like or Walthers cross over with a little modification or is it all shelf queen's now?

Bachmann doesn't have parts. You can send the engine back to Bachmann for their exchange program along with a check for $40. I got a $115 Spectrum E60CP in return. They give you what ever is available at the time. For your other part needs look on Ebay.

| Found that page and no gears are listed. I called Bachmann and for $15 dollars + shipping they will send me a new one. I need to find a trashed F-9 Bachmann shell.

Fear not, Jeepman, for a may have what you need. Look at the picture, is this what your engine motor looks like?

I will sell you cheap the bottom unit for the gears and motor, as the case plastic is bent on one end, but all the gears appear to be intact, and the motor is still good, too. How about $3 plus shipping?

I'm still looking for couplers and traction bands for some of my Tyco diesel loco's. Any idea's? A semi-local hobby shop suggested bands from an orthodontist but I'm concerned about the reaction of those with chemicals common to this hobby. I'm not very familiar with couplers at all so any help would be appreciated. I do not mind doing modifying as I'm currently making a variable power supply for my slot cars.

Are you looking for horn-hook couplers, or knuckle type? If knuckle, the Kadee website has lots of info on conversions.
Re the traction tires, I bought some from "woodentrainmaker" on eBay. He's got some up there now as item number 360334178625. When I bought mine, he had an assortment of different sizes available. I don't have enough time on them to say how they last. They almost seem like they're sliced from a hose, but whatever works . . .

| Well in my noobness of searching I kept hearing the name Kaydee and thought it was a style of coupler. Little did I know they are a manufacturer and have write-ups of upgrading engines and rolling stock. I feel like a moron now lol

But now you are an educated moron. I think www.yardbirdtrains.com has traction tires.
