It is a Tyco electric train set HO scale double oval track layout 45“ x 45“.
This item is used. I took several pictures of everything that is included in the box.
This was given to me. The history behind it is that it was used under a Christmas tree for a few years.
Then packed back in the box and stored in the closet until now the outer box is in rough shape.
But all the contents inside seem to be in very good condition including the boxes.

The item for sale is a vintage Tyco Chattanooga train set.
All cars appear to be in very good condition.
Note the following:
The engine has been tested.
It lights up but it looks like a gear might be loose in the tender.
That causes it to not run fully on the track.
It needs some attention.
The engine and tender have very minimal wear on the out side of them.
The plastic has separated from the box.
Some items are a little dusty mainly the box.
There is not an insert for the box car.
There is tape on the maintenance car.
It looks like the side is loose or damaged.
Some of the trestles have damage to the clips.
The whistle is untested and the button is not present.
If you blow in it it does make the noise.
No track
No transformer

At 0.31 the locomotive has the front driver derailed! I know there is a lot of sentiment for this old set, but by the 1980's, it was really junk with the notorious PT motor (tender-driven).

Yes, it has the junk PT motor. The Silver Streak loco/set was introduced in ‘79 and the PT was introduced in the mid seventies, I believe, definitely by 1975.

Condition Used
Two used Tyco train sets that have been around for a long time.
1977's Durango and 1979's Clementine both sets are fully intact.
Boxes have some heavy wear and some tape underneath the cover.
Boxes rough edge where on the outer boxes Clementine locomotive.
Original funnel and oil these sets are untested and sold as is they are nearly 50 years old.
Probably just for collectors only at least the locomotives probably won't run
They were cheap to begin with back in the day the rest of the train looks great.
There is a small part of the Durango Corner bottom of the locomotive that appears to have been broken off
Tiny section at the bottom of the rail.. it's quite possible the Clementine set was never run the paper is still on the Bell explaining how to put the smoke in
Also the gold mine has never been open or put together and the gold nuggets are still in the original bag and so are the night glow strips

This is an Original Tyco HO Scale Number T-10 Dual Locomotive 8 Car Freight Set
Produced by The Master Craftsmen of The Tyler Manufacturing Company of Woodbury Heights New Jersey
Circa 1957 or so.
The early train pieces in this set are certainly interesting, beautiful and desirable
However it is THE BOX that is the huge deal here.
In my opinion this set is the "HOLY GRAIL" of Tyco train collecting!
At a price of $99.50 in 1957, that equates to approx. $1,126.00 in 2025 dollars
So this was a VERY expensive train set in 1957 and as you can imagine, VERY few were manufactured and very few were sold.
Then to find the fabulous wooden box still intact after all this time is really amazing.
We won't even talk about how difficult all those blue Tyco boxes are to find. The rolling stock all appears to be in virtually perfect condition.
No broken steps, no chipped roof walks, no missing couplers, etc.
The Mikado loco is the correct, early version with the die-cast metal tender and metal pilot.
I have not tested any of the items and am selling this set absolutely "AS-IS." It really is all about "THE BOX!".

I think that these are some of the most absurd prices I've seen. $135 for a Tyco Santa Fe F7, $135 for a Life-Like UP F40? Of course none have sold.
