Here's an image I pulled of Google. Doesn't look very similar. What to do you think, Frank?

On the Theme of passenger cars, here is another person who thinks they're item is made of 24 karat gold. I've seen the full Tyco Broadway Limited set for cheaper than that! Some people need to just stick to things and tremendously overpriced micromachines lots that will never ever sell.

Here's the message I sent the seller, because even I couldn't stand to see this insanity go unnoticed.

I only said $30 because I didn't have the heart to tell them it was actually worth $20.

After messaging them ebay suggested this to me.

Curiousity sake, been checking out Bubble Yum cars on eBay, which used to go for mad money,
like $100 unboxed. As of late there seems to be about four, or so, boxed and unboxed, with and
without the semi, not selling at $40. The pendulum swings back.

I never write an ebay seller about a price. I figure if they are mislead some how on a price, the item not selling will let them know that after a few weeks. I can't do people's homework for them. They have to learn on their own, or not... I see plenty of crazy pricing every night...

Tyco used Gilbert bodies for a year or two around 1959, but this pre-dates the PC merger by almost a decade. The bodies also have noticeable differences, the most obvious being an extra window on each of the AF cars. The cars in the auction are Tyco. I'm pretty sure I've seen this error before.

A Tyco 0-8-0 with an interesting front-end modification... reminds me a bit of those fireless steam lokies.

It looks like it was intended to resemble when railroads sometimes extended smoke boxes of engines when they converted from wood to coal or installed a certain kind of spark arrester in the smoke box. The silly thing is that this engine had a pretty big smoke box already.

The smokebox door that whoever did this added is literally from an H0 tanker car.

They used steam and superheated water from an in-plant stationary boiler. As they used up the steam pressure, the pressure drop in the boiler would lower the boiling point of the superheated water, boiling some of it and replenishing the steam until the water is used up.

OK, then, makes sense. Must have been hellaciously hot steam, as
one would think that it would dissipate the kinetic energy with
extreme rapidity. The insulation must have been enormous.
Wonder how many hours per charge they could get?

Well, clearly, the physics worked. It is just clear that steam wants to be
anything but steam, and is always "slowing down" to become condensate.
Never the less, it would seem a useful alternative, as it must have been
very expensive to have a nonrevenue locomotive that constantly required
cleaning and replenishment of coal and then finding somewhere to dump
the ashes.

That was a. Very interesting read. Lots of new information.
Does anyone know of a layout based on the fireless concept?
That would make for a superb switching layout...

So, someone apparently bought this... That poor soul paying that amount of money for this... Well, you know what they say; a fool and his money is parted.

I believe that the engine is somewhat rare.
The more common one is primarily gray.
Especially its tender.

I noticed this guy selling several lots of cars with no wheel trucks. Has the trucks and couplers in separate auctions. I wonder if this is profitable? I would never fool with it that much. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-of-30-Vintage-Tyco-HO-50-Box-Car-Bodies-No-Trucks-Lot/193889151698?hash=item2d24b1aad2:g:dk8AAOSwbgNgJeMv
