No better authority than The Man in Black said "it's a mighty fine line", and thanks to Athearn's latest "fantasy" offering - as a Christmas gift from my wife - it truly is.

Okay, so I guess I know what to go with for this week:

I HATE this paint scheme. I gave this loco and the couple pieces of rolling stock I had to my daughter, who loves it. The loco was $2 new at a train show. The only good thing I can say is that it runs better than most Bachmanns I've come across.

I love the bankrupt blue Rock Island paint scheme!
So much so that I even bought the Bachmann E60 electric in the scheme!

I read in one of the Trains magazines that UP was going to be painting several of their locos in what they were calling a heritage series. Basically locos that would be running primarily on routs previously run by fallen companies would be painted in those colors. There was a picture of an UP loco painted as an MKT loco. It did not even say UP on it. Yours may be one of those.

hey tkruger the Heritage Units DO say UP on them Like this real CNW unit does

I Apologize for this not being a model train But had to show tkruger how the Heritage Units were painted There are WP, SP, CNW, MKT, Rio Grande & MP Heritage Units Yes you can get these in most model scales too

You are right, I was looking for a UP log or something somewhere. Was not visible in the picture I saw. Glad UP is painting them like that. Wish CSX and BNSF would do the same.
