Haven't really found a description yet of the long diesel Mantua and Tyco put out, the HOSeeker literature section wasn't much help at first glance. What model engine is that, an FM or Alco? I can't tell. I see a C&O 1102 on Ebay I'm interested in.

Hi Jerry, I believe the mention of 1102 is the number found on the Alco 630's made by Tyco.

ALCO C630. The only prototype example is from Norfolk&Western. see George Elwood's fallen flags website for pictures or look at www.vmt.org for the only remaining prototype example.

Ok, thanks! Now I know what it is. Too bad Tyco didn't do a N&W scheme for this, since it's in my 1:1 area I live near. Maybe I'll have to have one repainted to match that.

Sounds like a good idea to me. The C630 appeared in two different paint schemes for the N&W railroad. The blue scheme, such as the museum example and an all black scheme. If you live near Roanoke, I recommend visiting that museum.
