I was right above Tampa on the west coast side. These lichens are mixed in the woods in that area with Pine, Pin Oak, Scrub Oak, and some sort of scrub bushes with long fronds/leaves. Ft Myers is south of Tampa, I think , so you should be able to find some, if there are any woods around with Pine and Oak trees. Seem to be the principle forest staple down there. Good hunting!

Ha, funny you should mention that, the beach I was at, on Pine Island, had a sign on the marshy side that said " Alligator sighting, area closed ". I WAS hoping to get to see one in the wild, but didn't. Oh well.

I think Lakeland is not too far from Fort Myers???? Anyway, there is a hobby shop in Lakeland called, "Marchets". I read somewhere that they have HO trains and some unusual or hard to find models. I was in FL about a week ago, but didn't get a chance to go to the hobby shop.
