Here's an early Tyco clearance check car. I've had this for sometime, it was missing the yellow "fingers" but I found one mail order.

I'm prety sure they checked tunnel clearances. Not certain if they are used today, probably have some new fangled technology.

How many scale forests have been felled and carted on Tyco Southern RR pulpwood cars? Enough to reforest the surface of Jupiter (think about that one for a minute).
But here's one you probably haven't seen before:

I surmise this to be a pretty rare early production version. The graphics and road# are different than the typical Southern RR examples. The mask on this actually comes from the somewhat scarce Southern Skid Flat. It's also fully painted, as opposed to the bulk of production with was simply molded in red with white graphics applied.

Hi All,
Great stuff! I have finally started (again) my picture taking to catalog my train collection, I hope to be done by Christmas, LOL! Not that I have a lot, but with the kids and Grandkids running around time is limited.
This is an AHM Tempo live stock car that I got in a box lot of junk.

Hi Microbusss,
The Cattle car is plastic. I do like this one. I am going to have to get some couplers on it and get it on the road.

Brilliant mix of cars this week, fellas, but no passenger cars? All together now: Oh no-no, no, not the vista!
Union Pacific Budd Vista Dome by Walther's in Armour Yellow delights the eyes but Mavis is running late for the bus. Quick march, Mavis!

I have this same car with the original metal wheels on it. I installed No. 5s and body mounts on it.

Hi AMC_Gremlin_GT,
I so envy your trip to my home state. My last trip back was in 98. Sounds like you had a good time and found an interesting plant for the layout to boot. I just wanted to share with you more of the set for your Playart caboose.
I hope you enjoy

That's very intersesting, mytyco. So Playart was another brand sold under the Model Power label. I really like AMC's Fireies caboose and the Tyco/Bachmann/Playart triple tanker in your set is a lot of foam!

Hey, thanks for sharing that! Now I'll know what else I'll have to collect to get the entire set (already saved your image ). Playart is hard to find, might take awhile to build that set.
Yes, I had a good time, last time for me was '97, I went down to Lakeland for the Sun N' Fun fly-in there, and camped out. I was into Ultralight flying ( well, LONGING to fly, anyway!), still haven't lost enough weight or found enough money to get my flying lessons in. Oh well, there's still time enough left if I hit the lottery or my company finally starts doing better (before I retire? LOL, yeah right! ). Anyway, appreciate the posting of that group, I'll be looking for the rest now.
