| Awesome. That's one of my favorite Tycos. I've got one that's repowered, and one that's original. Nice start to LOTW. I'll have to find something to show tomorrow.

Super shark, Terry! I have a dream, one day I'll find, a real RF-16 and paint it green because it looks so mean in a hockeystick theme. Hey Vanderbilt, love your tenders! Almost as much as I love your Santa Fe GP20. Geep Superfleets make grown men weep. From an IHC-Roundhouse set I picked up this afternoon, my LOTW is also a predecessor to the BNSF:
Hmm, I did intend these photos to be catalogue-like minimalist but I seem to be adding more junk every week. Somewhere in there is an IHC Great Northern 0-8-0 steam engine which, I believe, is closely related to the Tyco model... or not. Whatever, it's a fine little loco and a welcome addition to my growing roster.

Yep, the IHC 0-8-0 and 2-8-0 have the old Tyco Consolidation boiler tooling.

Thanks for the clarification, NP, knew it was something like that. Speaking of which, I should have an IHC 2-8-0 in a few weeks so it will make for an interesting comparison.
Very nice GP7, toptrain. Who are Front Range and what became of them?

Its actually a GP9 (phase 2). Front Range existed in the 1980's selling GP7's and GP9's mainly as well as Kader GP30 shells on its own drive (similar to Bev Bel). They went under by end of the decade. Rumor has it Athearn bought the basic tooling design's and is incorporating them into their new upcoming line of Genesis GP7/9 units due next year. At the time the FR Geeps were the only serious contender to the aging widebody Athearn GP7 (AKA "GP9"). Larry

Thanks for the info, SOU2645. I'd never heard of Front Range before, too old for me I guess. Love the add, catfordken. The "or 7" looks very much an afterthought but isn't it nice they gave modellers a choice.

| Thanks, Erich. Should be much better when my layout is done. Assembling a few snapkits gained me some perspective on how it will all look in 3D. I aim to make sure my trains won't totally be hidden by structures taller than I anticipated.
