Hey all,
Finally got time to check out my newest aquisition.
I didn't realize they made dummy engines for the Spirit of 76 series
The body and Presidential Seal decal are in really nice shape. I wish it came with handrails.

no weight in it. Brass wheels are all on the same side, interesting

Anyway, I like it
Cheers, Ian

Wow, never heard of that--do you think it's original? If you had the brass wheels on opposite sides, you could install a light. I do have an original S of 76 F-9 dummy, I believe they came in powered-dummy sets.

I've never seen a dummy unit for the Century series of Alcos. Kinda cool, though

Looking at the second picture of the loco on it's side you can see the front truck has geared axles, also looks like the wire is missing from the rear truck up to the front truck. Have you thought of swapping the rear wheels so they pick up power from the opposite rail, add the wire and see if it's a runner?
