Just got this in a "Buy It Now" on the 'bay. I had forgotten that these have been seen with 5628 boards on the front and rear. The decals are hard to read as if they have something on the letters. The seal on the other side is chipped but I'll touch it up with paint. Hand rails and couplers and horns are complete. Ran good but gets warm. I don't think it saw much running time oeriginally. I wonder why the seal is so dark?

AF;
Maybe based on the running shape and dark seal it was boxed away. Not exposed to a lot of light which tends to lighten things obviously. Is the seal (hard to tell from pics) much darker than the rest seems to be?

AF:
It's kinda taken on a low-contrast look. Certainly harder to make out the script thats for sure...

VERY NICE find as always AF! As mentioned in previous posts in this thread, its almost impossible to find one of these without damage to the seal. The road number on this locomotive interests me too (unless I've overlooked the 5628 # over the years). Lets not forget too that several years back that someone on eBay was selling the origional presidential seal in a reproduction run of decals because lets face it, 95% of the true Sof76 released by Tyco cracked,faded,and pealed off almost instantly it seemed. I have one MIB thats only been handled twice and once was to get this photo for you of a origional untouched seal thats minty mint. Hope this may help you alittle.

No problem bud! Anything to help a true,fellow Tyconaught out! Mines has the 4301 number. I bought it back in 1999 at a hobby shop in Wilmington DE. and the guy was pretty set on 25$ but since it was MIB and had the sealed package of handrails I picked it up for some reason (I guess he was just a good salesman...lol) even though im not a big Sof76 guy. Im glad I bought it now though since not many exist with the mint seals.v You have first dibs on it if you ever want it since you're one of the few thats kept intouch the last year while I been battling heath problems. Just let me know if and when you'd want it. My offer stands...

Alex,
What a great offer I'm honored, I'll be in touch.
My other MU2 POTUS So76 is # 4301. I have one that's a PT, regular seal and it's 4301 too.
Keep those posts coming.

Brian:
Are you accusing me of subtelty?
I'm gonna have a few 430's (a Prez and a Canadiana both in Original boxes if memory serves) AND two of the Ph1 Rivarossi/Tyco C-630's also in original boxes I think...., Plus a PH3 immaculate S076 C-630.
Couple of other things are already soft commited (right of 1st refusal) to Tony the Spider, but not any of the above....
Couple things I'm fairly certain MB (Ben) will want and at least one thing that Shay's getting pretty much for certain....even if I have to walk it down south of the MD-line!
Oh almost forgot, I have a Tuscan GG in the original box, beautiful (the engine, not the box. The box is "fine"), and a Black Jack GG-no Box.... as for my rolling stock most is going to a forum memeber because he's stateside and can distibute it much more cheaply than I.
Some non-Tyco stuff as well.
