I'll post pics Saturday or Sunday, too whipped to do much now....hot tub then bed! Anyway, in a nutshell, found some good model train / Tyco / other train stuff scattered around the Hershey Park showfields. I found a Lionel? L.A.S.E.R train set, 3 rail, took some pics, had a helicopter car, a searchlight car, some other kind of unique car, a Hustler Engine , chromed, with LASER on it. Had $130 price tag. Next row down, I found a box of Tyco slot track, gray, and some AC Gilbert gray track mixed. Got the box for $10. Also an American Flyer boxcab, very old, for $20. Plus a metal Lionel 3620 searchlight/generator car for $15. Plus a metal steam engine shell for $2.Next hit was a box of diecast cars, saw a Tyco Turbo UP engine in there, $1. Is the railroad track kind, not slot track kind. Missing one shoe, but otherwise complete. After that, found a Tyco dump flat, $2. Then things went dry, didn't find much ( I wanted ) until late in the day, the last row actually. Guy had a lot of train stuff, from Lionel Standard Gauge down to HO. I bought 5 HO cars, he had Varney, and some other cars with metal undersides. Not sure what brand they are.
Other various and sundry train items were a Chessie system 'frig magnet, and a GG1 beltbuckle, red Pennsy scheme. Saw other train items, but were either priced too high for me, or wrong scale or uninterested. But lots to see anyway as far as trains went.
Far as car stuff went, well, I found a Gremlin gas cap, some Hudson emblems, Nash front bumperette accessory, Marlin fender emblem, various old and new Diecast cars , various scales, some HO scale buses though. Overall a great day to wander the showfields looking thru trash for treasure. Ah, yes, my buddy spotted a set of points with the AM script on it, early AMC points, original. Only $1, so they came home, too. My feet were complaining by 5 PM, but I kept tellin' them to shut up, at least I had a hand truck and they didn't have to CARRY the load of the stuff, too. My shoulders were grateful for that as well. Got some sun on my face and neck, too. Just beautiful weather in PA.
Near the last row I went down, found some Aurora slot car track, no pins or catches, but got the whole box for $5. So it was a decent day for slot cars and trains, too. And automobile stuff. Wanted some Nash and Hudson hood ornaments, but at the prices they wanted for them ( $100 + each ), out of my budget for now. Guy had some nice ones, maybe next year.
I'll pull the pics off this weekend and post them, just wore out now, just want to soak then head to bed. All for tonight.

Has any of you ever looked at MisterConey.com? There's some INSANE prices on Tyco Light ups & slot car items. Packs of Tyco Fluorescent & Mercury lights $30 & $40+ !!! Old tyco Speedways track pieces listed at ridiculously high prices considering this track is undisirable to most people due to the tabs breaking issue... Here's a link to one of those sale pages. http://www.mrconey.com/slotcars/classified/26838?imgdisplay=1

This is the problem with antique dealers in general. They think everything's worth a fortune.

As for this show, what exactly is it? Is it a flea market? Swap meet? Train show? Seems like quite a variety of stuff.

The Hershey show is for Antique Automobiles, people come from all over the WORLD in the fall to find parts. Need a Dusenburg or Reo part? they're here. Need to replace your Ford Model A frame? they're making new ones! First and foremost, it's an antique car event ( started out as pre-war , 1945 and earlier vintage, car parts and car selling event ) , but you can find some more modern stuff thrown in, too. And people sell vintage motor boat motors, bicycles, pedal cars, you name it. And trains. If it's antique, and toy related, they'll sell it there, too. Guys buy that stuff, so that's why people bring it. And usually if they're smaller vendors, they're not up on pricing, so you can bargain with them. I usually get my best deals from the small fry, those who just bring misc. stuff. If you've never been to the Hershey AACA car corral and flea market show, you should do it once in your lifetime. It's SO big, you can't cover just one showfield in day, and there's 6 or 7 of them, about 10 acres in size each I'd estimate. I made it through 2/3's of one show field Friday. If I hadn't had my friends with me, I might have covered the entire showfield, as I walk faster and "skim" look at them, if I don't see anything interesting, I keep moving. I think the slower, methodical method is probably better, but I do it either way.
Oh, yeah, one other find, I forgot to take a picture of it. A Buddy L train and track. Didn't see a price, it was ok condition, I know they go high. That was at the end of the day, I was so tired, I don't know why I didn't take a picture of it. Brain burnout, I guess. My feet were complaining so loudly by then, it drowned out my Train Engineer inside telling me to get a photo of it. Ah well.
