I'm going stag this week, a new Ebay acquisition, an old metal Mantua shark. Not sure which road this was?
Missing a few truck bracket screws, and haven't tested it. Still have to clean the diecasts off my test track.

Whoa, AMC...that looks like one I nearly bid on the other day! We'll have to get together on this so we don't work against each other!
Here's my set for the week. It's an A-B-A set of Pennsylvania PA1's by Athearn. One powered, two dummies. Got them for $5 a piece from an under-the-table junk box at a train show last year. Took some tinkering to get the powered unit from derailing for some reason, but now they're running strong. Hard to get a picture of three locos:

Nice Pennsy trio you have there B77, those locos would look great pulling a full set of Athearn Pennsy streamlined cars.

Hi All,
Nice loco's!
burlington77, I love those PA1's you got. Are those the older ones with the metal trucks?

The powered unit has metal trucks, the dummies are plastic. I'm really not a big Pennsy fan...just bought them because they were cheap. But I agree they would look great pulling a set of streamliners.
I almost posted the RDC's I picked up today, but I'll save them for another day.

Looking very nice. Is this new paint. If the red sticker was on the smoke box front I'd think it was factory paint.

Here's mine - a pair of CB&Q "Hi-F" drive Athearn F7A's wearing both of the Burlington paint jobs offered. The red/gray is an oddball and the scheme was never used by Q at all. Both are difficult to find these days - and these two run like they are brand new. Larry

Thanks! They are my fave F7's out of the 25+ Globe/Athearn ones I own. The red/gray paint was introduced in 1961 at the time they were replacing black/gray on the GP7's with Chinese red. This scheme didnt last long - and finding Hi-F drive ones is especially hard. Larry

Here's a pic of the loco I purchased, which I mentioned in a previous post. I'm wondering if anyone knows if the Rock Island ever had such a livery--or is it a Mantua "fantasy" scheme? I figured in any case it would go well with my Mantua aluminum streamline "Golden State" train.

On the doubles theme -
I got these two in a box with some other junk. The one with all its wheels tries to run, but the wheels on the set the motor drives are loose. They need to be quartered. Looks like someone has tried super glue already and it didn't hold. The other body looks hopeless. Looks like someone used house paint on it!
I think I'll try drilling a small hole in the wheels next to the axles so the super glue can run into the joint. Or, can you get Rivarossi parts?
I got these at the Dover, NJ show. It's mostly Lionel - so a Lionel Collector sold me a cigar box with these and some other parts for $2.00!
This is an HO Microbus, for Microbus of course!

I wouldn't drill any holes in the wheel, as that will only weaken it. I would remove the geared drivers, and completely clean and degrease them. Turn the loco upside down and quarter them, using the others and the side rod holes as a guide. When they look like they're aligned, remove the geared set and run a bead of thin CA around the back of the wheel where it meets the axle and let it set. It shouldn't ever come loose.
I have seen drivers for these on eBay, but not often.
Try soaking the shells & frames in 91% alcohol to hopefully remove those awful paint jobs.

Here are a pair of my doubles for LotW. This is a pair of Athearn CN F7's. I bought the one on the left new at my LHS almost 10 years ago (my first diesel engine BTW). The one on the right I found tonight at the same shop. I've been looking for a second one for a while

Smart looking F7's, DaCheez. I always think CN as red, white and black. Nice change.
Microbusss, I love your Burlington locos, especially the GP20. Perfect!
