Hey guys:

Salvaged a Canon Digital camera from work before I left.
It's an old Canon A430 and today having looked at an old posting offering some advice I decided to try the "macro" setting!

Result below. Love Canon lenses!

What a lucky score, romcat! You can see every speck of rust and dust!
Does a quality camera make good shots easier to get or is it a poor craftsmen are tools kinda thing?

My camera is a 20 buck supermarket special. The brand is "made in PRC" and it features two focus modes; IN YOUR FACE  or    really far away.   It chews through batteries like a Lima Power Box and the image stabilizer would make the Rock Of Gibraltar look painted by Matisse.

Wanna swap?

Hey TW:

Well colour me impressed (Sorry for the pun!) a reference to an Impressionist era artist on the forum I LOVE it!

The ironic thing about that camera is I was using it at work and we got a bunch of 12 meg cameras in so no one used the little 4.3 meg Canon. I like this point and shoot, well actually it's more than that but it shot nice basic auto shots so I went on ebay to price them and they were selling for approx $20-27 USD as BIN's so I was gonna get one then my GM said just hang on to it. I have duracell rechargeable NiCads which are terrible but it only uses two ata a time and I have 6 so....

When I bought my S-1 which is only a 3.2 meg camera but 10x mag and image stabalizing and most importanat a truly GOOD LENSE cause it's a camera... can I print super clear posters from it NO. But will it take great pics, yeah.

So, don't fancy my digital Box Brownie then? Never mind, I'll live.

Yes, the lense makes all the difference. I know that, NOW! Just have to soldier on until someone throws free, high quality optical electronics at me to. Could happen!

Smokie:

How recent is your digital camera. Mine has a "flower" symbol on the function button, and thats the macro one. Someone a while back suggested it. It also has apparently a Super-Macro setting. I downloaded the manual for it...

What make and model of camera do you have? Do you still have the amnual?
