My wife had a vendor's spot for Crafters at a Hot Air Balloonfest in Hughesville, PA this past weekend, and I got some "free time" from her to go visit English's Hobby store in Montoursville, PA, the home of Bowser manufacturing, on Saturday. One thing I'd been wanting to see was they had a Stewart/ Cary Boxcab conversion for Hustler loco's, so while there, I had them pull one to check out. It's cast zinc alloy metal, basically looks like a shrunken version of the MDC Roundhouse boxcab/track cleaner. Definitely something different, so I bought it ( $25 ). Their website lists it as a discontinued item, so they may not have many left. They also had a Trolley I wanted, cast metal body, but at $60, I just couldn't justify it.
On the Discount/ used table there, I found several Tyco accessories for $1.88 each, I'll post those later in AOTW. Decent shape, missing some parts on one. They had a stack of trolley / streetcar track, light grey, 90 degree turns all, about 10 or so for $7.50. I can make straight pieces, but the curves would be harder to duplicate. I also bought 3 new pairs of different passenger trucks to try on some old Walther's old time passenger cars, they formerly used Central Valley trucks, but those are HTF and expensive when you do. So if either of these 3 sets work and look right for the era ( 20's and 30's? ), I'll buy more later, they're metal and not cheap either, from $12 to 15 per set. But sprung and look nice. I just need to find SOMETHING to put on those passenger cars, obviously can't be a modern truck.
Found 2 of the Fresh Cherries 1/87 AMC Hornets in YELLOW, all the ones I found in Virginia were bronze a few years ago, so I bought 2 of them, all they had. Couldn't find any detail parts for my EMD BL-2 engines by Athearn, nor did they have any HOn3 track in stock, some guy had bought all they had a week previous, and hadn't restocked yet. It works for 12mm TT gauge, and I wanted to try some. Oh well, I can always order some ( if I ever find anyone who CARRIES HOn3 or HOM or 12mm track ).
So a fairly successful trip to PA for train parts, pieces, and repair items. I was glad to be able to get the mini-Boxcab kit, I'll post that as well under the Hustlers post most likely. Maybe here as well later, I'll just edit my post here. haven't uploaded any pics from the trip yet, just dog tired from the 7 hour trip home to Virginia. Cats are glad we're home, too!

Jerry, That was some trip from VA to Montoursville, PA. How long did it take for the trip...
From my house in New Cumberland PA. It takes almost 2 hours to get to Bowser.. As long as I do not stop at the Nascar Mc Donalds In Muncy. Carl

Athearn doesn't make any BL2's. It is most likely a Life Like Proto 2000. From underneath the drive looks the same.
