Well hopefully he spots this and drops in that Steamer he mentioned last week.
In the meantime here's a space holder:

Until then, here's my Spectrum GP30 I got a couple weeks ago in a lot. Missing it's front and rear hand rails when I got it, I used Athearn GP35s colored with magic marker to keep the narrow profile...other than that, it was mint...

OK, here's my newly acquired Marklin Z280 , or 3065 in Marklin's model series - just found one on Ebay, used, listed at $160 to start, no bids yet. And I paid $25 for mine yesterday. Now all I need is 3-rail HO track. LOL.

I'll try to check it out today with a transformer, if I can find one that quick. I think I know where they are, my AC ones. Can't wait to see how it runs.

Here's my latest Tyco acquisition. It's pretty much mint and came in what I assume is the original box.

Nice one Cheez. Microbusss is going to be begging when he sees that.
Here's one that fits into the "theme" of the week:

It's a Mantua Classics 0-6-0 from their Classic Six set, which I need to get around to posting on SOTW. Got the whole set on a closeout website for under 40 bucks. This one actually survived an eight foot fall off a shelf onto a wood floor.
Notice the dumpster-cam.

This is a Proto 2000 EMD E8/9 Electro-Motive demonstrator I picked up at a train show recently. It was brand new in a beat up box. I took it out of the box and ran it around a test track a few times, but I haven't installed the pilot doors yet. Not bad for $20.00, but it definitely needs some break in time.

Just noticed how AMC's Marklin Z280 has the same offset wheel configuration as the Tyco and Mantua 'Little Sixes'. That's so neat!
DaCheez's E7 is too cool and a6m5zerosen's EMD demonstrator is an absolute gem, I'd like one of each please! Interesting mix of engines this week, folks.

This is the brand new Athearn Genesis Santa Fe F-7A. I was hesitant to buy one of these, as they're a bit on the expensive side. I found this one on eBay with a buy it now of about $80.00 and bought it on impulse. To be fair, it is a single A unit with no sound and it is not set up for DCC-it is DC only. But, as I'm pretty much an old school transformer-and-two-wires kind of guy, it suits me just fine. The stainless steel sides and plated aluminum are incredible in this scale-the photos do not do it justice. If I had one complaint, it would be the number boards-they are beautifully done, but they do not illuminate. I'm sure I can find a way to make this happen, though, if I can work up the courage to tear this thing apart & start messing with the electronics!

Odd how someting so ubiquitous; a Santa fe F-7 model in HO scale can exemplfy beauty as well but this does. It's almost as if, if you're going to collect HO Diesels, your first draft choice should be one of these.
just my opinion of course and I'm an Alco/MLW guy but few things say "Train" the way this does.

I've found that rather irksome in these latest wonders...issues like illuminated boards that were settled long ago in the high end market and yet you fork over hard coin to find out it still isn't done.
