While the dumpster-cam is handy, the Hot tub cam is dandy! More room to lay out the big finds, etc. I had a very good day at the Greenberg show today, bargains galore, many Tyco bargains as well. Many billboard cars in boxes going for $4-5 each. I picked up a few that interested me. So, on with the show!

Here's the overall collection I got, lots of various stuff.

Here's most of the Tyco / Mantua stuff, minus one black metal Mantua flat in a later pic. Pepsi was $10, the Sharknose $13, the Bicen-boose $4, others $1 or so.

Here's some various Billboard cars and specialty cars. I'd just bought a propellor car minus one prop on Ebay recently, found this one with both intact, paid $15, most of any of the cars I bought today. They're AHM, I believe, and hard to find. The kraft container flat is interesting, there's different markings on the other side, see below pic.

First time I'd seen this car, pretty nice! $10, but worth it to me.
Here's some other cars, for my Purina consist, with a Thrall-door and old-time boxcar versions

I think thats' enough Purina cars for me, I've got at least 20 now.

The tracksters were a GREAT find, they had 3, but I already had the BN truck, at $10 each I should have bought them all, but I got the bus and Amtrak truck. Sweet!

Found this nice Marklin 3-rail engine with a vendor just selling misc. bits and pieces. He was taking Offers, so I said $20, he said 25, I said "sold!". These sell for over 50 on Ebay, don't know if it runs, but it's in decent shape. I'll try my Lionel transformer on it later, to see if it moves or turns over. Been wanting a Euro type yard diesel, so this fit the bill AND my budget, even if it's just a display model.

Last is this lot of parts, guy had mostly large-scale, but his junkbox held some small HO treasures, including the tyco flat at the bottom. I got one metal base, passenger ends in metal, and an open-frame motor ( for the gear )all for $4.
I think I left the building with $3 in bills and a pocket of misc. change. I took about $140 with me. Overall a pretty good day, I found some great bargains to take home, plus some rare cars at somewhat reasonable ( non-Ebay) prices. Hope you enjoyed my show, Hot Tub cam is offline in 3...2...1 (ker-SPLASH! )

The Tracksters are staying here.
I think I have the caboose, I just didn't have the engine. $13 ( and it DOES run, I already tested it , light works, too, looks mint ) was a good deal, I think. THey sell for $20+ on Ebay easy. It will join my Tyco BN sharknose, and my metal Mantua Sharknose. I think I have the red and yellow version, too. I forget. :)

That Angle on the rear roofline of the one on the right is wrong for a Gremlin I think. "B" pillar on the one directly behind the hot tub again I don't think so!? Where's the Pope of Gremlin's (AMC_G...)to weigh in on this???

Walt is correct, there are three Gremlins in the photo - the black car is a 16-valve VW Scirocco , my wife's hot rod. Here's a better pic of the lot :

BTW, there's two MORE Gremlins in the garage (you can't even see them now they're buried ), and an orange one off to the side not in the picture to the left. Six total at my house.

I have to admit I'm disappointed in this topic. I thought I was going to see every young man's fantasy...hot tub pics of girls you picked up at a train show.

Maybe I could set up a hot tub perimeter layout, and get some nice young ladies to pose in the hot tub while vintage Tyco's run round and round the Lake of Love. Would THAT satisfy a fantasy or two? I won't pose in the tub with it, might give ya nightmares, not fantasies. Er, and Burlington, WHAT shows do YOU go to that you see hot young ladies? All I ever see are grizzled older men and train geeks. LOL.

Hello Jerry, off topic, but on this topic, out of high school I bought a brand new 1975 Silver Gremlin X with the V8 option.
Do you have one of those I can take off your hands?
I would love have one again, as I took mine and had it highly modifidy, and it would lift the front wheels... Surprise to the street scene at the time...

Nice trains AND cars! Do you have a pic of all your gremlins parked side by side? That'd be cool to see.

Mike, I own NINE Gremlins, and none are V-8s...I can ONLY wish! They're hard to find, and command (low) 4 figures nowadays when they appear for sale on Ebay. You can convert one, but you need the unique specific pieces to do it, such as right exhaust manifold, driveshaft, and metal motor mount brackets to get it done. I have all the pieces now, but have enough trouble trying to get one going without doing a conversion ( lost my only spare 304 motor to weather and time, so none available right now either ) A buddy of mine in PA is into Pacers, and had one, but a few winters ago, a tree fell on it and pretty much destroyed any chance of fixing it. He's saved the parts, but couldn't save the whole car. Ugh! Best bet is to check Ebay, they pop up from time to time. Beaters I've seen sell for $1,000 or more, nice ones over $4k or better. My rare ones include two GT versions, 1978 only, 2 canvas sunroof versions, a 71 and a 72, very rare. The others are just plain janes. My best is a 74 gold Gremlin, nothing special, needs a timing chain and carb work. Hasn't run now in 7? years. Just lack of money coupled with other things just prevents me from much progress. Hopefully my job will turn around soon, I'll be back to 40 hour weeks, and I can afford to spend a bit on them again. I'll send ya some pics of mine if you like....

My fleet, in better days, about 8 years ago. Now the driveway is extremely cluttered, and I need to clean it out.
