The German and Europeans have the best track in the world and you rarley ever hear of derailments due to this type of construction. They build this type of rail and raod bed for the high spped trains. Concrete ties are more cost effective.

The light rail in Minneapolis, MN uses concrete ties like that. That is one super smooth ride too.

concrete ties are better for the enviorment as the ties aren't made of trees!

Concrete ties are supposed to last 30 years. They use 3,000 of them per mile.

yes but if you check it out 5% of the carbon footprint comes from the concrete industry

true & I needs to take a pic of the wooden ties/sleepers That I'm using for fence posts Tho I has seen the concrete ones used as parking bumpers hehe Have seen the concrete crossing pads used as a retaining wall

travel through out Mexico and you'll find most fence posts are concrete , that is if they bother to put them up at all. One of the hazards of driving is the live stock that wanders out on the road

Wood is a scarce commodity, cement is numero uno for construction material.

never bothered to check out the ties
