The side rod screws take an 0-80 wrench, except for the Chattanooga's which are larger.

Hi Vintage,
I'm trying to get the valve gears on my 638 set up right. I have 5 of them and not one is set up right!!!! One I got and some dumm s--t ground off the rivets and I need to replace them.
i got some from Nelson last week if I knew where I could get them I would buy 12 this time.
I also need the top valve rod assembly I could use 4 if someone has them.
Thanks
Ken

Hi Ken,

The hex screws on your Chattanooga have a .100 inch head, so those 0-80 wrenches aren't going to work for you. I've never found one that size.

Dan should have rivets, but the not the valve gear links for that engine.

For anybody who might need one of those .080 wrenches, I just bout one at Bowser Trains for $1.59. They have quite a few spare parts for Tyco locos & rolling stock, at reasonable prices. You have to hunt around the parts drawings a little to find what you want, but I was surprised at just how much is still available (including traction tires-the right ones-for both steam & diesels).
