So many pictures of layouts show well lit scenes, many with lighting valences , indirect lighting controlled dimmers, etc

My location is not well lit and would require running wire and hanging lamps.

Instead of doing this has any one ever come across a layout that depicts dawn or dusk?

I can envision street lamps, cars with lights on, houses and buildings lit up. Not completely dark.

Could even do some indirect lighting to make a sunrise or sunset.

Sure , one of my club members does night ops, he's got several overhead lights he can dim, plus his layout is wired for scale lighting, so he can operate in dim to no light conditions. Nothing wrong with that scenario. If you like, prefer, or want to try it first, why not? He's got pathway lighting around the layout, so you can still see to walk and not bump into other operators. Somewhere I have pictures, but can't find them this morning. When I do, I'll post some.
