Hey Guys,
Is there an easy way to install traction tires on a MU-2 motor?
I'm about to pull all my hair out trying to put even one on.(without success)
I am attempting to put them on a almost mint Santa Fe freight F-7,and I don't want to remove the sideframes on the truck.
Is there any alternative?

Carl - Brian - try installing using the smallest flat blade jewelers screw driver and a small pair of tweezers - Gently push tire around wheel in hard to reach area with scewdriver while gently pulling with tweezers - i don't know if this will help as i myself haven't installed any MU tires yet using this method - Only thing io can think of that may work - May take patience to get to work - Rogain will replace pulled or stress induced hair fall out

OK Brian,and others.
I think I have found a fairly easy way to replace traction tires on Tyco MU-2 motors without damaging the truck sideframes.
I used a Tyco metal side handrail and bent the very end with needle nose plyers just a bit to make a small hook.
I removed the motor from the body to have easier access.
Lay the tire on the wheel flange, and with the hook tool I made work the tire around so it goes OVER the wheel, and rests between the wheel and the motor.
Then using the hook tool start working the tire onto the wheel tread, and before ya know it,the tire is resting in the wheel groove.
I fought this one tire for about 15 minutes before accidentally coming up with this solution.
I hope it works for you guys as well as it worked for me.

ps, No hair was damaged during this procedure!
