A Tyco Spirit of '76 blows past McNeal's Pumpkin Patch in Plasticville, NH on a frosty October morning. Taken last night. I was supposed to be on my stepper, but got noodling around with the Tyco for the next two hours. A lot more fun.

Disclaimer: The layout picture I have posted in this specific post is not a picture of one of my layouts, it's just a picture I took on someone else's layout.
Caught this photo of a beautifully restored American 4-4-0 crossing the newly built Linc Pinn R.R. bridge, delivering candy to the locals. The weather here doesn't seem to be very good, which may have been why there have been so few trains that day, especially since the railroad is known for having washouts along it.

That could be quite relaxing to kick back in a chair with a drink and watch that 4-4-0 go about it's business . . . and over that cool bridge.

An aging B&M box cab is seen beating up a 1.5% grade with an express load of pickles today. I used to pick pickles during summers during high school; my job was to follow the pickle picker, a home made machine known as a "Hadley Biplane" because of its configuration. I'm not sure if I hated pickle picking or hacking out frozen broccoli out of dumpsters in February in New Hampshire using an iron rod. They call me the "Brocolator."

***Last Train on the Once-Mighty JNXT*** by Winston Mallet, special railroad correspondent
Tonight at 9:30 EST, the last train pulled out of the station and ended an era. A PRR GG1, its consist made up of a baggage car, combine, diner and observation car was the last scheduled train - passenger or otherwise - to traverse the JNXT main line for the foreseeable future. Sadly there were few to witness the event, with the JNXT shops already mothballed over a month ago and area residents out of work. "There is nothing sadder than a railroad town without a railroad," one local said. "I remember sitting on my front porch watching the Super Chief pass through in the evening, and then an little later a hotshot freight would go through. Now it's quiet.....too quiet. They say this is just a phase we're going through, that one day they'll be trains shining the rails again. We'll see." Calls to the JNXT main office, seeking comment, were not returned.

TF News March 3, 2015 * Jerry has a nice idea of posting tranquil scenes of trains in pristine weather conditions. This next one shows cola cars transporting refreshing drinks to thirsty customers. The local pizzeria adds to a scene far away from current winter conditions. I am sure other members have favorite photos of warm locations to share.

least model train derailments are funny hehe & easy fixed
Now the problem could be the flanges on loco are too wide or the turnouts has too narrow of a space

Yeah Ben. I need to go over them for the umpteenth time. Though I'm thinkin' that what I basically need to do is start with a new board. I didn't appreciate at the time how critical it is to have a good flat surface and there are a couple of joints in this platform that cause a couple of pieces of that "composite" wood to lay just a bit weird. So it might be best for me to get to the root of the problem (maybe the turnouts are only the symptom, you know?).

Old time car that had seen better days near Union N.J. Maybe the crew at Frankford can restore her soon.

Been busy as a hop toad on the 4th of July, been a while since I've glimmed the Railroader News. WKS, Coke Is It! You just keep pounding out new colors, new gestalts, new angles- simply great and inspiring work. Top Train: you must have posted those English Iron Ladies just for me: makes my heart pitter-patter. NJ Central: you turned back the clock in an amazing and unique vision that is lovely to contemplate. Love those diamond stacks! Barry, please sweep up the loose hair and mail it to me. I've pulled out my own, have no more. Some loco's just deserve flying lessons- over the garden wall. JNTX- love that faded caboose shot, great effect. Please keep these great posts coming: they put coal in my fire box. WKS: I've done a little work on the 1880's layout, will have something new to show, next week.
