"This is the ride that bankrupts the English Language." - Theodore Roosevelt T.R. said that after riding from Colorado Springs to Cripple Creek on a route where the scenery is mostly big knobby rock formations, ponderosa pines, and aspen trees. The desolate oval reminds me a bit of that front range hardscrabble.

Thank you Barry. You have some nice vintage equipment in your neck of the woods as well. On the second day of Christmas we see another visitor to The Garden State. Chicago special with some rich folk on board enjoying the wonderful scenery. After turning around on the nearby loop of track they head to Bergen Point. Photo location at Manasquan New Jersey on another beautiful sunny afternoon.

Here's my submission to the TF Railroader news:
December 2nd, 2017
An invisible photographer stands atop the newly added signal bridge, and snaps a photo of the last 3 cars of a Union Pacific freight train stopped at Schuylkill Valley station. The cars which are visible: Sealand container car, Western Maryland flat car transporting 2 cab-overs, and last but not least, a UP caboose.

Redwoods,
Nice layout, especially the water and waves. Was the train able to outrun the brontosaurus?
The guy at the bottom of the lighthouse is looking for something, unaware of the impending action on the cliff above. :)

Redwoods country does seem to be having a pesky dinosaur problem at the moment. :) Perhaps some large spring traps might help. As for the chap in the rocks, he is totally focused on eel fishing. There is even a lovely mermaid behind him and he is totally oblivious to her as well.

B&O blue- rolling artwork. Russian Decapods- an intriguing backstory:
"The first boost in the number of Decapods occurred when Imperial Russia ordered approximately 1,200 Decapods from American builders during World War I. When the Bolshevik revolution occurred in 1917, 857 had already been delivered,[2] but more than 200 were either awaiting shipment or were in the process of construction.[2] " (from Wikipedia).

That Johnson Wax consist is both rare and beautiful. Never seen the whole set before, and least of all in action. Great night shots, WKS. The Penn Line switcher is charming. I wanted to repeat this great shot, from the edge of my beloved Berkshires:

Thanks Chops - I appreciate it, and yeah, the Johnson Wax set is awesome!!
Wks, those night shots are truly special. I know from experience on my layout that it is difficult to catch a good shot that actually looks like night-time, without looking like just "flash" was used, but you aced it!!

My latest aquisition-- Blue Bonnet" Santa Fe F9 #4015 hauls a short consist of freight on the Ephrata Valley Railroad. Up first is a head-on shot caught by the "unknown photographer" who zoomed-in on the F9 with his camera, then a street view as the locomotive passes by a second time, and lastly, a shot (you can see just a teensy bit of light on, in the headlight) as the ATSF F9 slows to a stop at the Schuylkill Valley freight Station.

Coelacanths, alligators, and particular sharks all trace back to the Jurasic period, and beyond. With regard to the delightful brontosaurus above, I am a little intrigued when I hear of an alligator eating someone's poodle, or a surfer getting nibbled off the coast: dinosaurs are with us yet and are quite, quite dangerous.
Moreover, in evolutionary theory we are descended from lung fish. I find it hard to conceive that Tyco is essentially a byproduct of genetic selection from lung fish, but then again when I consider my mindless compulsion to hurl myself upon a purple "Good and Plenty" maybe there is some truth to the matter.

Ain't that cool? In old Model Railroaders, I mean olde, as in ye olde Model Railroaders, Kalmbach recomended the use of asbestos for snow effect. I trust Mr. WKS is a bit more sensible than that. Truly unique and emotive photos; nicely got!!
Hey, Barry, what about adding a bit of snow to your fine little layout? Snow on those pine trees...
I did a module a while back using snow effects, the cat got it after that, it exists only herein. I recall I was having a slow period, and that it was WKS who kind of prodded me into doing something, just by virtue of his cool photos. For this, we time travel a bit, from 1880 to 1980. https://youtu.be/MCTotVdXUg4
