Many great views today. Superb collection of SP locomotives. El Paso used to be an
SP hub, and the SP was first to arrive in 1881. The white on white is a most striking
use of color, closely reminiscent of the NYNH&H White Train, which was a superb
express at the turn of the century. Lastly, the gravel pit is a superb bit of artistry,
what with the rails rusting in the summer heat, dotted by scraggle bush familiar to
us desert dwellers.

I'm not knocking anything
BUT cars & locos made in the 1850s to 1900s do look odd with knuckle couplers on them
Maybe I just think of them as using Link & Pin couplers intead

but yeah you gotta be modern with them knuckle couplers

Redwoods, that gravel pit looks awesomely realistic!

Wks, those old-fashioned steam trains & passenger coaches look ideal on your layout, and the pictures with snow are very realistic indeed!

Chops, nice Nuclear Power Plant, and all of the trees on your layout (while constructed of different materials) are quite coherent!

@wks Thank you! I like your views, esp those old timers.

@Brian4321 The layout spans the length of the garage. Here in San Francisco, our garages are narrow but deep. It's a two car garage but the cars are parked one behind the other.

@RP I use a Polaroid Cube+. It is one inch tall and wide and it has a strong magnet on the bottom so it sticks to any flatcar that has a steel weight in it. I used a Tyco flatcar for this cab ride. Here is a pic.

Tyco Gulf tankers spotted

Both Tyco 3-dome Gulf tanker cars were spotted on the inner line of the Ephrata Valley Railroad, being pulled by the Pennsy F9 A&B pair. I truly am surprised at the effective Tyco design of these 3-dome tankers -- they perform surprisingly well on the rather tight curves and trackage constraints, which characterize my HO-Scale layout.

Anyone who hasn't checked out Redwood's Cab Ride is missing a goody.
Numerous things stand out, but my favorite clips were the bridge shots,
the sound effects, and the manner by which Californian railroads
seem to defy gravity they way in which they cling to the sides of the
Sierra Nevada mountains. One almost expects to see a gang of Chinese
dangling down the sides of precipices, sticks of nitroglycerin in hand.

Lastly, the use of a single line of mainline, threading its way about
is a most thoughtful use of space; one not so often attempted
successfully as done herein.

That being said, I rather enjoyed the classic Triple Dome Tyco
Tankers sweeping past Euphrates and the idle whirr of a solar
powered trolley near Rockaway.
