Well Jeff, I didn't notice the middle unit in the latch-up till today. A C-Liner. How did these 3 locos run together. All have very different drive systems. Athearn, Rivarossi, and Mantua-Tyco . frank

I like mixing it up, when I can. Back in my day, that being the late '70's, a lot of these Northeast roads were putting the oddest head end power consists together due to power shortages. The string of Tyco NH boxcars has now grown to 34, and the weight and the drag is rather heavy, which in turn allows each locomotive to synchronize without much trouble. I know this is not ideal for the longevity of small electric motors, but I am generally of the persuasion to put it to use.
For this particular collection of Tyco NH orange cars, I have replaced the head end power with a set of durable Athearn Blue Box A-B-A set in the Snow Bird paint scheme (not a fictional paint scheme- was used on the light weight passenger set "Daniel Webster.") All the units are powered; this after I roasted a motor using one powered to pull twenty cars. The consist is now numbered at 34.

Reports show that the Walkersville Northern will acquire former Penn Central track from the Maryland Midland railway, running from the Glade Paper Mill, to a local printing company. There is also rumor of Walkersville Northern making a purchase from Maryland Midland, though no more specific details have surfaced.
(Author's note, the Walkersville Northern is my fictional shortline and isn't related to the Walkersville Southern at all. Also, while in my layout's time (1974-76) Penn Central should still exist and Maryland Midland shouldn't, it's getting handwaved to fit with what I want.).

The TF Railroader News Walkersville Regional Sep 7, 2016
While the track purchase from Maryland Midland had fallen through (in fact, reports vary between whether it had fallen through or that the initial reports were complete hogwash), specifications of the purchase have been revealed, consisting of 2 Alco RS-3 locomotives, to be employed in freight use, hauling coal loads from the Appalachia Mining Company*. A slur of spare parts are also included in the purchase, likely to clear out stock as the Maryland Midland moves towards newer engines and clears house of the venerable but aging RS-3.
*If there's an actual Appalachia Mining Company, then this one is unrelated

The Tyco Forum Railroader news. September 13 2016. Morning Addition. Snoopy reporting. After years of reporting the goings on around the Bergen Point I am amazed at the current situation at the Frankford roundhouse and service area. For some unknown reason aviable power has taken as shift downward in horsepower. Small diesel switchers and steam locomotives presently prevail here at a location once brisling with large articulated steam locomotives and even some of the more powerful diesel locomotives. For the last few days outside of a pair of passenger trains pulled by F3 nd F7 diesels, small two axel light weight diesels, and 0-4-0 and 0-6-0 steamers are now in vogue. I will follow this informative message with detailed photos of the Service area. " Snoopy the photographer" "Your eyes around town."
