" Tyco Forum Railroader News " June 28 2015 Morning Addition Snoopy reporting;
* After a good breakfast at Joe's dinner I went over to the coal docks to see what was interesting. One of the PGW's New York Central Hudson's had returned from a freight assignment. Was fueled up and waiting its turn on the turntable for placement on one of the ready tracks or possibly inside a roundhouse stall for service. The engineer and fireman was just leaving and the hostler hadn't arrived as of yet. These powerful 4-6-4 types can handle almost any assignment. I stayed back and got a busy looking picture for the morning addition. So much is always going around a Engine house.
Snoopy your ever present reporter.

TF Railroader News June 30, 2015 Another nice scene at the yards Frank. Also thank you Jerry and look forward to your nice photos soon. This next photo is at peaceful North Adams, MA. As I am waiting for the next train, the familiar horn and rumbling sounds nearby means the Boston and Maine BL2 is approaching.
Knowing the pathways and using my bike, I make it in time to take a quick photo of it peeking out of the tunnel in the dim sunlight.
I took some photos of the freight set passing thru town.
A short wait by the train crew allowed me to get a nice photo of this hopper car.
The scene is peaceful and quiet again as the freight departs. These set of events are repeated time and time again in this area unblemished by worldly events. Paradise indeed.

The TF Railroader News July 2, 2015 We return to beautiful North Adams, Massachusetts with another visitor to the area. Great Northern railcar doing the honors today by transporting the local citizens around this fine bucolic location.
The crew stopped the car for some of the railfans to take its picture.
Thank you Great Northern for lending your fine railcar for the next two months while Boston and Maine fixes its own railcar.

TF RR News July 7, 2015 Thank you for your compliments. Everyone here has nice photos at one time or another. This next scene is near Danbury, Connecticut showing a small freight set on another sunny day.
This last photo shows two guests in this picture. First one is Alaska RR caboose.
Second guest is a familiar vintage car owned by Mr. Kennedy whom we met in this paper's June 17, 2015 post. He was with a woman who clearly did not look like Miss Wilkes. We wonder if she reads this newspaper.

The TF Railroader News July 18, 2015
Pennsylvania Great Western Railway recently tested a steam engine it purchased from Southern Railroad. The engine along with restored coaches has been operating on the scenic Catford Branch since last week. Everything is operating fine and PGW is going to buy more units and coaches. Their branch line has seen huge increases in ridership due to high gasoline and insurance rates in England. I took some photos last week of the set near beautiful Wallingford, England.
Nice day for photos.
The wailing whistle signals its arrival to the towns people.
Look at it take off.
PGW branch president Mr. Catford Ken is very pleased with its performance.

Also on hand were two Alco units being tested for freight service on that line.
They can easily handle the two percent grade on sections of the line.
Ken loves the colors but he is looking to change one of them into a Union Jack paint scheme.

The southerners have landed! A second set was spotted on British soil yesterday. The success of the first set has PGW ordering more for its expanding services on all of their lines. These photos were taken yesterday near Windsor, England.
Ken feels confident that these engines will perform well for a long time.
Many thanks to Southern Railroad for building these extra units in record time!

Meanwhile on the other side of the pond we spotted a Reading set taking on coal in eastern Pennsylvania. The unit did overtime that day and its dwindling coal supply forced it to take a different route for refueling. It is spotted at a coaling tower facility near Shamokin, Pennsylvania on a warm muggy early evening.
Reading railroad engines work overtime to get the jobs done on time.
That is why they have many satisfied customers along their routes.
Take the Reading for your company's success.

Caught a set of old timers traveling down the rails near Spring Lake, NJ recently.
Collection from different railroads sure looks different.
Took a trolley later on a different line near Wayne NJ.
All this work and traveling made me hungry.
After the meal I snapped a shot of the cute restaurant by the tracks. Took the trolley home.

The TF Railroader News July 22, 2015
The KFC scene is unique Ken. It gives that branch line a small town down home feel to it even though it is close to New York City. Many business establishments open shop close to the tracks to attract customers. Those customers enjoy the simple lifestyle of those communities and they like to get away from the overcrowding conditions of busy cities.
This next scene shows a station which had seen passenger service in its past. Some of the small branch line railroads have struggled to make ends meet. Competition from other transportation modes have forced these small railroads to downsize. This station had served one of those railroad companies for so long. Once many passenger trains stopped there. Now only freight service remains and they are far and few between.
A small set whizzes by on a late afternoon setting.
It goes so fast you can barely photograph it.
The station has been renovated recently. Perhaps some big railroad company such as PGW can take it over and resume passenger service. Toptrain and his crew have done the same with other small lines. Only time will tell.

At 7am a young colt stretches its legs to start the day. A caboose from the west completes the photo.
At 9am cries from young baby animals alert their parents it is feeding time.
At 11am beer has been loaded at the station for distribution to local pubs in the area.
At 1pm workers are getting ready to move electric supplies to area customers.
At 4pm workers finish cleaning the church and having it ready for weekend services.
At 7pm an area cat looks to the heavens and wonders what tomorrow will bring.

Here they come. Go Speed Racer Go.
One of the boyfriends is racing with the local freight to impress his lady.
The engineer has no wish to speed since his freight is carrying precious cargo.
Later we see one of the cars cooling its heels off.
Another car is ready to go.

Free food inside for those hobos with money problems.
I wonder if they go everywhere east, north and south?
The anxious zebra wonders if the steel barriers inside will prevent the hungry tiger from getting his next free meal?
A derailment delays the freight for a few hours today. I wonder if this is a ominous sign for the Cubs season?

Another long and hot day for those dedicated track workers who maintain the rails for safe transportation. These workers are at the Narrows near Cumberland, Maryland. They drink plenty of water to sustain their health but at night they will guzzle down those beers that the local freight delivered this muggy hot August afternoon.
The same set of events will duplicate themselves tomorrow and the day after.

Wow, that is some astonishing work. Sorry I've been slacking off of late. I will endeavor to try to knock out some new shots. I've ridden on those subways in years past. In Boston, as many will know, the old PCC trolleys often ran on the same subway rails along side the subways.

Here at Bergen Point things are always happening. Often the inside track is used for switching. It is common to see a freight car placed by Elisha's General store being talked about by the oldtimer's who are there for coffee in morning.

The TF Railroader News September 4 2015 We find ourselves again near Denver to view some photos from another railfan trip sponsored by Union Pacific Railroad. Restored Denver South Park and Pacific coaches being pulled by one of the Jupiters owned by The UP Historical Society shown yesterday.
Sunny but more humid day for the small group of railfans riding the train.
The Jupiter gains speed to produce much needed breezes for those on the train.
People still enjoyed the trip regardless of the higher temperatures.
Photos taken near Ruby Hill Colorado.
After the trip the railfans headed to a local pub to get some cold drinks.
