Hi All,
Can anyone ID this motor for me? The Great One gave me a box of misc. parts she picked up on Sat. and this is one of the items found in it.
Thanks in advance Mike

Hi Mike. The motor is probably from a battery operated toy. Circa 1950s. The Long shaft with what looks like a spring is really a cork screw drive that turned a gear setup to operate the toy. It worked with approx. 2 D batteries. Do not remember what toy it is from but, I have seen it before. Carl

VHO is right, that's a 50's-60's toy motor. My guess is it runs on 3 or 6 volts.
This is weird... I was just thinking about springs used as worms like this the day before, and then you post this. I was trying to remember if they were ever used in some primitive HO drivetrains, but probably not.

That is the same motor that is in my 1958 Cragstan Ford Skyliner.
Cragstan was a importer of Japanese toys in the 50s and 60s

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the replies. Very interesting what you find in a misc. box. To bad I don't have something to use it in LOL.
Thanks again
